Hawthorn has traded pick 29, 58 and 71 to Freo, in exchange for picks 38 and 56.

Huh?
They downgrade 29 to 38
Upgrade slightly 58 to 56
And throw away 71 as well?

Anyone able to explain?
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

This will be tough to understand for us mere mortals if a Trader can't understand it. :D

Richmond must have thought it was pick 39. Sydney are probably still pinching themselves over this one. Morton slipped back in the order this year, but still worth more than pick 79.

I don't think I can recall a club being as active and aggressive during trade week as Adelaide has been this year. A very interesting strategy, effectively trading their way around a compromised draft.

Time will tell as to whether it was the right strategy, but at this stage as an Adelaide fan I'm very happy with the fact that my club has gone out on the front foot and done something to wrestle their fate back into their own hands, rather than just bending over and taking the expansion situation up the date.

Agreed Ginge, as much as it pains me to say it, im impressed with what adelaide has accomplished this week. Like you said though, only time will tell whether this strategy will bear fruit.
