FWIW I deleted the Nahas joke because as soon as I posted it Wedgie's abuse post appeared before it and so it looked out of place in that order

Wedgie must have used his moderator power to find the post I intended be deleted and re-post it in an attempt to make me look stupid I suppose

At the very least I want the post I deleted to stay deleted - including in Royal City's quote

I am happy to retract any reference to RC being a stalker if Site Admin does the same to me - just delete any posts that refer to stalking by anyone. That's fine by me.

I don't consider my posts to Dutchy as an attack on him at all. Given that this thread degenerates most times I reckon he would be better off asking his questions directly of the SACA or the SMA rather than hope the facts will come out on here. For example, I posed a genuine on-topic question for discussion this morning and of course there's not a single response.

Perhaps if moderators lead the way in the rational discussion it could set the example for the rest of us.

FWIW, that 'power' doesn't exist.

Was he just quick off the mark then? I deleted it in like 3 seconds.

He knew I had deleted it as per his comment yet there it is in his post.

Yep, just quick. If seen, it would be in my 'page history' and I could just click back through pages until I found it.

This place has become as bad as Bigfooty with some of the absolute BS on here. Moderators need to lift their game in weeding out this sort of crap.

I feel compelled to respond to this PAFC.

This place is nowhere near as bad as BigFooty and the mods, including those of us involved in this debate, do a very good job of maintaining the credibility of this site. This topic, with over half a billion tax payer dollars the centre point of the discussion, along with the long term future of the SANFL as a body, the two SA AFL based clubs futures, the future of the SANFL teams revenue potential and the SACA is very important in the sporting / entertainment ( major concert ) future in our lifetimes and our childrens. It is / was always going to be a passionate debate.

A thread bound to bring out the passion, the best and worst of many of us. Until the powers that be finally put pen to paper on this deal it will continue to be a hotly debated topic.

Sure, some pages and comments are not overly relevant and have become, as CP said, more aimed at the man than the ball, but I doubt anyone involved in this takes it personally and Im sure we could all have a beer with each other and respect the other's opinion.

But please, dont compare our efforts on here to those of the moderators ( are there any? ) on Bigfooty.

Not comparing the mods to bigfooty at all, but there are more and more personal attacks on here all the time, and it seems like things that were getting stamped out quickly before are slipping through. The mods here do a great job, it's the people who attack the man not the ball that need to lift their game. I know the site is no where near bigfooty standards and never will be, but there is no way some of the posts on the previous page would have been allowed in the past, emotive topic or not.

If we have any hope of keeping this thread on track all off topic posts including mine should just get deleted IMO. Otherwise it's raking over the wounds every time as other people read the posts and quote, etc.

Otherwise just lock the thread off as a lost cause or start a new clean one with clear rules and enforce those rules. This happens every time a PAFC / future of SANFL thread comes up too.

I'll admit to a couple of off topic posts directed at RC but the idea that I target him personally to detract from a failed argument of my own is still as offensive as it is ludicrous. People shouldn't be allowed to loudly tell us they are leaving the thread and throw in personal attacks at the same time as though that makes them immune from any comeback.

I broke it a year or two back, got sick of 'em mate!

The moderators are damned if they do and damned if they dont, I get complaints when they delete stuff, I got complaints when they dont delete stuff, personally I think they do a pretty good job, if anything I'd let more through if I was a dictator but I'm not.

Anyway, on topic please people, if you have a comment about the site and how its moderated or any similar questions make a post in the Announcements, Feedback, Suggestions, etc forum, I and others are only too happy to discuss things at any time in there.
