Port vs west coast AFL final 41000 on a Saturday night. Salary cap for players $22 million

Sturt vs port 39000 sanfl gf on a Sunday twilight salary cap $600k worth of players.

Afl = overrated shit

I dont really like Dixon either but credit where its due, be had a very good year and was a very good big forward.

He's always had the ability and size, always gave the impression the grey matter & remaining injury-free would be his biggest challenges. Most big blokes don't play their best footy til 27-30 imho, so Port definitely have that focal point to build a forwardline around.

Plenty on here knocked us for taking him due to his durability, I think the knock should have been on the GC Suns fitness crew and not Dixon himself. There's little doubt he's benefited from being involved in a world class physical performance set up.

Games per year :
Gold Coast
2011 - 10
2012 - 12
2013 - 13
2014 - 14
2015 - 16
Port Adelaide
2016 - 18 of 22
2017 - 23 of 23

Getting on the piss and gear up there wouldn't of helped rehab.
Moving away from Bennell has probably helped aswell.
From the outside Port seems to have a far better culture than the party club up there

I don't begrudge anyone for their preferences, my team folded when the Crows began so my interest dropped then, still have a soft spot for the Eagles but was never the same, I used to attend my teams games religiously as a teenager no matter how many buses and trains I had to catch.

41,000 people see a drawn AFL final and extra time thriller, most paying handsomely for the privilege, they wouldn't be there if they didn't truly want to be.

39,000 people see a 1 point thriller with plenty of neutrals in attendance on free tickets, U18's free and all the people I was with ( 12 of us ) all there with free tickets.

Can't you see the similarities?

I know of at least 20 that attended and none of them paid for their ticket, take out our combined 32 and that leaves 39,781 that may have paid for there's.

Still confused how the AFL Reserves has was and always been so unhealthy for the SANFL, and yet people are bragging about crowds that .. involve the AFL reserves.

I mean, are we seriously making this argument right now?

Maybe because the comp is about more that just the GF. A lot of supporters from both clubs at the GF that jumped on the bandwagon and probably never went to a regular season game. Ports crowds especially were pretty ordinary during the regular season. A couple thousand more of these "die hard" supporters each week and the real clubs would be a lot healthier financially

Has anyone heard that Red Bull may be Port's next major sponsor?
