Must have fluked it this time.

Anyway, Thomas has to live with what he has done … clear thinking isn't one of his strengths, and to behave so appallingly to women in a club where the President and CEO are both women shows some serious lack of judgement.

No sympathy from me, is lucky he isn’t in a gaol.

Sheezel signs a 4 year contract extension until the end of 2030.

No matter what the club but surely these long contracts must be a worry. The Brayshaw retirement with 5 years left as an example leaves a massive burden on a club.
Salary cap and list spots impacted.

Brayshaw is an exception as he's been medically retired. The AFL, Melbourne and Brayshaw's management are brokering a deal to have some monies paid to him and I've read some will be on the cap, some will not be but it's unlikely it would be the full contract payments and you can imagine they'd create an off field role for him anyway.

Long contracts are now more the rule than the exception.

Mind you the likes of Sheezel, Soligo, Rachele and Daicos who, in their second year, signed deals taking them into free agency does seem a little risky.

What a horror show last night at Norwood, recruitment has been a disaster at North, as soon as the sides ran out the size difference was the first thing that stood out, no way were North going to score against Brisbanes backline, totally destroyed North in all areas of the game. Long long road ahead :(

Agree with the size comparison, but we could’ve had Dench, Glendinning, Martyn & Arch down back on Friday & it wouldn’t have made much difference the way the ball was coming in so fast. The amount of times we gave the ball back to Brisbane when not under pressure was very concerning.

It was a tough watch, take the small wins - our kids stood up (and showed up most of our senior players) and Comben looks like he will be the tall intercept defender we need and might end up being better than McKay.

After last years disaster, which wasn't our fault, this is pretty much Clarko's 1st year, so while it is hard, we need patience.

Well of course it wouldn't have made a difference, they're all old these days. 8)

Have to really feel for our defenders at the moment, guys with less than 10 games having to put in efforts on the guns of the comp with very little support by the way of our midfield not exposing them. I lost count of the times we telegraphed a handball that was easily picked off once all our players had pushed forward. I know Aidan Corr is on some coin but it is time to write that off and just play Comben, Dawson and Pink together and recruit a key defender next offseason. Corr just isn't up to it.

Brisbane looked like a side that had something to prove and were definitely looking to use us to get their season back on track but it was disappointing how some of our senior players handled that.

That being said on paper we probably had the toughest draw possible for our first 4 games and expect everyone we played, with the exception of probably Freo, to be around the mark again at the end of the year. Hardly the time to say we have gone backwards or need to do anything drastic.

Essendon could recruit Jesus to play fullback, and Jim would complain about his hair getting in his eyes...

Not at all.
My point is it doesn’t matter how good your defenders are if the mids hang you out to dry.

We got Duursma for the McKay compensation and Comben looks like he will fill the role more than adequately, definitely been a win so far, and we need to take all of the small wins.

Unfortunately since Easter Jesus has struggled to nail down his spot in the side

How many of his 10 games have been in defence?
