REB, Wedgie and other Geelong supporters, would you rather drop one now or go through to the GF on a 19-20 game winning streak?
I remember North Melbourne having a 11(?) game streak going in against the Crows in 1998, although if they'd kick straight that day it would be a non issue today.

I don't subscribe to the have to lose one theory but if we are going to lose one I can see it being in the last round, we send up half a side to Brisbane and Brisbane continue their fine form.
Christ, we could lose 3 games by 100 pts and still be on top of the table!

Crows by 27 points. Lock it in Eddie. and to add a bit of salt, Bomber to the Dons 2008 on around $500k p.a. on a 3 year contract.

IMO opinion nothing wrong with a winning streak.
Carlton in 95 only dropped two games (in a row vs Syd & St K)
Essendon only dropped one game in 2000.
Nothing wrong with a streak...Carn the Catters !

Cats by 39 points - in form, too skillful, too many options up forward, home ground advantage.

I don't like salt, Coowrong! BTW, Bomber Thompson goes back in time with Botox, not by rebuilding another basket case list.

If Geelong gets the inclement weather forecast the Crows even minus half their usual team are a silly chance.

Skilled Stadium is a tricky Venue and luck will determine how the Crows handle the conditions.

I think five players really make geelong

1: G Yablett
2: J Bartel
3: J Corey
4: C Enright
5: D Wojinski

These guys are IMO their most consistent ball getters and best ball users.
Cameron Ling can win a lot of it but i don't believe he's as effective as the top five, and Paul Chapman, if he plays, runs hot and cold.

Match these with the crows top five getters and users (IMO) and it's not that different.
All they have to do then is win their position, it's well and truly possible.

1: S Goodwin
2: T Edwards
3: S Thompson
4: N Bock
5: A McLeod

These guys match up well.
It's just a case of the crows players willing to win their positions, which is why they miss Bassett and Rutten so much, they rarely lost their position and their run from the backline was pivotal.
It's just a matter of replicating this.
Keep the ball away from scarlett and egan in defence, you've got a formidable attack plan.
Despite being unbeaten in x amount of games, Geelong still seem to be slipping under the radar.
There's a way to beat these guys, any team with cameron mooney in it is beatable.
If the crows switch on, they can win it.

Geelong are definitely not unbeatable - the Crows last match against them proved that

Whether or not the Crows will be the ones to finally beat them, at their home deck, is a hard ask and remains to be seen

Your lack of understanding regarding Geelong is remarkable. To leave out Brad Ottens in your list of key players is laughable. His form in the ruck is a key component in Geelong's improved form this year as has been accurately illustrated by syd dog.

Paul Chapman hot and cold? Fair dinkum. Have you actually watched Geelong this season? Chapman has actually missed more than a few games now and last time I checked you can't run 'hot' if you aren't in the side. When Chapman has been in the team he has never been anything else except highly effective.

Once again, have you actually watched Geelong this season? Cameron Ling was a complete failure as 'a ball winner' last season and now he has reverted to his normal role of run with player which means he often collects the stats while at the same time nulfiying star player after star player. Ball winner is not what Ling is meant to be, handy goalkicker and ace tagger though he is and clearly one of Geelong's most valuable players this season. Lingy has been huge expect him to keep Goodwin or Edwards company at Cat Park this week.

A couple of other guns you have failed to mention and their importance to the team are Matthew Scarlett and Matty Egan. Egan has come on to such an extent this season that Geelong can now assign him the number one foward of the opposition while letting Scarlett loose as an attacking running option from the backline. Both players are again highly valuable.

Finally you close with a complete underestimation of Cameron Mooney. FYI, teams that have had Cameron Mooney in them have now won 13 straight and Mooney has been our leading goal kicker this season. Yeah, you're right - he's rubbish. I wish he was as good as Nathan Bock LMAO.

No Geelong aren't unbeatable. But you reckon we've got five keys? Mate, we've got about 18 keys and that's why we are winning matches.

Cheers,

We played at your ground in your style and still won the game. Injuries cost you in that one to be fair. I rate Adelaide as a danger game for the Catters and we have a tough month coming up which will fine tune us nicely for the finals. Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch the match on TV!

Bock would tear strips off Mooney and I did make a rather large mention of Egan and Scarlett in that post, why your cat eyes missed that i can't explain.
My point about Chapman stands, players with the consistency of Ablett haven't run hot and cold.
Chapman, when he plays, tends to be brilliant or barely seen.
Whether through injury or not.
I rate Geelong as a team, but if i had to pick five players from their side that i thought were the goods, they're the five i would pick, that's my opinion.
The players i selected were good ball winners AND users.
Stop these five, the cats will crumble.

What does that have to do with running hot and cold???
Chapman is a good player, i never said he wasn't, but in terms of consistency, he isn't in the same mould as a joel corey or gary ablett.
I would also love to see bock match up on mooney.
Mooney is a lazy, short fused footballer.
Bock would leave him for dead

geelong derive a lot of their run from behind ball ups and from their defensive side of boundary throw ins while creating space forward of the contest by pushing players to the stoppage or wide onto the other side of the ground leaving the corridor open - play man on man and their even spread of talent makes it hard to stop. play the regulation zones and their ball carriers (chapman, gablett, milburn, wojcinski, bartel et al) have space to work within. This also enables them to hare off into the space forward created by having numbers at the stoppage and deep and then be utilised by a short kick.

Their forward line is competitive without being brilliant (probably will get there though) and is complemented with some hard running and tackling outliers (eg varcoe, stokes) with enough mix to pose problems to most defences.

Their gameplan is simple yet extraordinarily hard to break down; it can be frustrated but at the cost of attacking and geelong would back their talent to win enough chances and create a winning score (see the adelaide game this year). Added to the tremendous confidence in each other and a willingness to work, geelong could go far. They'll be troubled by Adelaide but do enough to win in the middle of kardinia park.

I still think that they'll lose the GF to either of the eagles or the swans however.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much

bit hard to remain consistent on a half forward flank as opposed to guys that run in the midfield all day long.

Geelong will win again, the cows winning last week is all of a sudden giving false hope to there fans.
