I'm a Norwood fan - I'd like the Crows to drop all the Norwood players including Bassett for the rest of the season. I've got my priorities right!
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!

The problem is he wasn't standing Mal Michael or Dustin Fletcher that day. Nor Darren Glass, Leo Barry, James Clement, Matthew Scarlett - even Daniel Merrett.

Yes - plenty of great SANFL forwards haven't cut the mustard at the next level - Richardson, Schell, Hodges to name a few

But, until he's tried who knows?

Gill is an unpredictable type of player and has a bit of an X factor that guys like Richardson and Schell didn't have. I'm not a North Adelaide or Crows follower, but i'll be particularly interested to see how Gill goes when/if given a chance.

Thurstans has played some ordinary footy, but is starting to turn things around. I wouldn't describe his form this year as "hopeless" at all.

Geez, all Crows youngsters bar 2 are hopless according to you and yet you jump at 10,000km per hour to the defence of Thurstans who's been scratching around for as long as Perrie?????

After 6 years or so he'd wanna be turning things around!

your right Hondo, Perrie and Thurstans would be at a similar age and a similar situation and both need to turn things around....

Mine was a "tongue in cheek" comment about the Crows youngsters. The amount of crap that Port gets, i think our supporters are able to dish a little bit back as well. Look at the last draft, compare their picks, especially Campbell and Gill, they've picked up 2 mature aged players when they really should have picked up teenagers. I'm quite a fan of Gill, but why they would pick up 2 mature players is beyond me really. And whilst you're having a go at me, you might like to notice its just not Port supporters who are critical of the Crows current list eg NFC on this thread. Most clubs can see the writing on the wall when they can foresee that they need to focus on juniors, but the Crows haven't done that. They insist on playing average footballers like Shirley when they should infact bite the bullet and give guys like Pfeiffer a go. The Crows need to acknowledge that they need to rebuild NOW, and not delay the inevitable. Port's list was quite average a couple of years ago, but made the tough decisions, and whilst it may not win a flag in the short term, has set itself up to be competitive.

As for Thurstans, i was just making an accurate observation, that he hasn't been "hopeless" this year. Not sure theres any factual basis that this could be argued against, hes been excellent at CHB this year, and in fact i agreed with you that he has been ordinary for much of the time up until this year. But this would be a bonus to the club, they wouldn't have pinned their hopes on him this year by any means, so if he hadn't have played well this year wouldn't have been a big deal at all, because he would have been pencilled in as a likely delisting within the next couple of years.

I missed the  on your other post then ....

I disagree with your assessment that the Crows aren't focussed on bringing the next crop of juniors through that's all. We have had good results from bringing through guys who are a fraction older such as Porplyzia, Bock and Rutten.

Besides, the Crows are still competitive and have been in most games this year, despite the injuries. Bassett and Rutten the latest and we missed them BIG TIME last week.

Gill I think was brought in as insurance once Hentschel went down - that's been a real blow to us this year IMO he was really coming along as the key forward we have missed this year. But that's life .....

WTF, we have been competitive once on the last 4 weeks....your wearing those glasses again Hondo...

I am almost hoping that Essendon beat us this week so we can FORGET ABOUT THE FINALS and move on to next year...
