First off hes the Captain.

Next he has to get AFL match fit at some point. He kicked 7 last week. He deserved to be in the side. Playing him again to kick another 7 at SANFL level this week wouldnt have done much. Had we then lost the Showdown, Crows supporters would have said 'haha you should have played Tredrea'.

Next, we didnt exactly have many others to choose from. Westhoff was in great form but got suspended. Cockshell had something like 2 handballs against the Kangaroos. Willits isnt ready to be the main focal point.

Tredrea had to play. The fact he didnt get a lot of the ball is beacuse Rutten and the other Crows defenders played well.

CP, that's a media-created myth perpectuated by Rucci IMO. None of us actually knows the inner workings of any coaching panel, let alone the Crows, so to presume that there is or isn't a Plan B is pure speculation. It's very convenient to use the 'Plan B' argument as a quick one-liner to explain away a loss or a series of losses. But it ignores all the other factors that can contribute to a loss and ignores the concept that a plan may be adequate, but the execution might have been be awful (eg Round 1 v Bombers).

Besides, no-one is ever clear if the Crows have one Plan A (and no Plan B) or a series of Plan A's (and no Plan B) - or even on what the Plan A theory is. In fact, if someone can explain the Crows' Plan A theory to me (the one that has no Plan B), and then tell me what the Plan B should be .... then I'm happy to stand corrected.

I said in another thread that I had to laugh when I heard Stephen Williams say that the Crows showed up the Bulldogs for not having a 'Plan B'.

It well may be a myth mate, but it's one that I happen to agree with ... It may be the case that other coaches and teams are in the same boat too but I wouldn't know as I don't see as much of them as I do the Crows ... I don't know whether it was Rucci who first brought it to light and to be honest I'm not a fan of his articles, but it doesn't mean there's no truth in everything he writes.
