Not exactly Outback I know but I went to the Alice when I was eighteen and it was hairy then. I've heard it's a lot tougher now. Still, a machette is not the answer surely. He's in a bit of bother is Jurrah. He'd be one scary dude coming at you with a machette too just quietly.

The term 'star' is used far too loosely, I was listening to the sport news on the radio this morning and the news reader explained that former Hawks 'star' Brent Renouf will play for the Power this weekend. I thought f**k off in no way is Brent Ronouf a star, a good ruckman but definitely not a star.

A premiership player though ;)

So on that basis...former Adelaide crows star, Aaron Keating

I'll raise you Aaron Shattock.

Jurrah's cousin is now saying that Liam attacked him with a machete and an axe.
Sounds like a Hollywood movie, was he also wearing a hockey mask and goes by the name Jason?

I've heard a story or two. Almost like something from another universe and definitely not something you'd expect to be happening in Australia.

Jurrah is from Yuendumu, 300km north west of Alice.

He is an elder in that community.

Their justice system is relatively simple, eye for an eye sort of thing.

Family members generally carry out some form of retribution.

These things are also quite rarely unprovoked - I have no doubt Liam would have had his reasons.

Whether they were good reasons or not is a different story.

Perhaps "elder" is a term that relates to someone who has matured beyond their actual age, not just someone who is older?

Not sure what average life expectancy is at Yuendumu but I guess if you're considered an adult at 18, then it is not so hard to believe.

To clarify, I got that information from the Yuendumu's GP, who lives in the community and is considered a sister there.
Actually, I say that with hesitance in case a friggin professor jumps out to prove me wrong again. Lol.

So apologies to all who were misled by that info.
