good win against a under strenght footscray on the weekend
we did not have the full team up either but some good signs by the youngsters
mckenzie impresses me,anthony was good, atley will get better
thomas and campbell played well and i would love them to give cruize a good go,i like the look of him and over the past they seem to drop him every time he looks like settling down and playing good footy,a bit like when sansbury played for us
still need some better run off half back but overall we should be happy
good test this week against carlton
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

I ma not sure pinning your hopes on Thomas is a good idea, he is a dud

a copy of a wrap up of saturdays game

NORTH Melbourne star Drew Petrie enjoyed a day out against Carlton at Visy Park on Sunday as the Kangaroos won an entertaining clash by 16 points.
Petrie dominated the Carlton defence, finishing with seven goals.
North Melbourne won the match 18. 8 (116) to Carlton 15. 10 (100).
North coach Brad Scott said he had deliberately stuck with 22 players for the game to condition his players for round one after playing larger squads in their earlier NAB Cup games.
"We always intended for this last one to be as close as possible to round one," Scott said.
"Even though we had the opportunity to bring three players on at half-time we chose not to, just because we wanted to get a decent conditioning effort and not get a surprise round one.
"It's easy to bring someone in fresh and perhaps get a false sense of fitness. It cost us a little bit because the boys were out on their feet a little bit … but I was pleased with the endeavour in the second half, for sure."
Scott praised the form of youngsters Kieran Harper and defender Jamie Macmillan, and Anthony's role on Judd.
"Liam's trained as a defender all pre-season and we've worked hard on teaching him the defensive side of the game and he's really improving in that area," Scott said.
"We can think he can be a really good player for us and a really complete player if he gets that right."
North was without senior players Jack Ziebell, who will miss the first two rounds through suspension, the injured Nathan Grima and Levi Greenwood.
Scott said Grima expected to be fit for round one, but he was less confident.
Carlton had started Sunday's game impressively and led the Kangaroos by 16 points midway through the second quarter.
But Petrie, who had already kicked two goals to that point, kicked two late goals to get the Kangaroos back to within two points at half-time.
Those two goals were the start of nine straight for North as it charged out to a 40-point lead as three quarter-time approached.
But the Blues hit back with the next four goals, including two to Dennis Armfield, to get back to within 18 points early in the last term. But Shaun Hampson and Bryce Gibbs both missed chances to get the Blues back within two goals.
Consecutive goals to Leigh Adams and Macmillan midway through the quarter effectively put the result beyond doubt.
NORTH MELBOURNE 4. 2 8.5 15.8 18. 8 (116)
CARLTON 5. 3 8.7 11.8 15.10 (100)

are you struggling to give credit where credit is due REB
all week all we will here is how the game against the hawks took it out of them, but yet the hawks went on their merry way
i know you had alot of guys out but im sure that a team that has had the edge over us to the tune of 50 odd points over the last 8 must admit the kids looked good and were well coached
maybe when you turn up to a game being over arrogant can cause grief

We are still miles off contending for the flag, but it is games like this and the influence of the kids in big games that gives me great confidence we are on the right track to be top 4 in 2-3 years time and giving it one hell of a shake for a number of years.

Not sure the players are over arrogant - think it applies more to a small number of their supporters ( eg. REB)

Not really dee, it was just my way of saying the scoreboard flattered us. Letting Boomer Harvey run free all night wouldn't have been the first thing on my checklist for how to beat North either. Brad outcoached his brother and North outplayed Geelong. As for credit being due...do it in September. ;)

It doesn't matter if the supporters are arrogant. Besides it's not arrogance, it's pride. That's what happens when your club can win a flag more often than once every seventy years.

agree about the boomer tag but have noticed so far this season that the hard tags have dropped off and except for stoppages have a habit of playing off each other
the arrogant part was about the fact they looked like they though they could win at any stage, and they nearly did
the shin boners are still three years off where you guys are but its great to see the young kids having a crack and even tho we have been belted along the way we still havent lowered our selves to play like the demons
still think we will finish between 7 and 9 with injuries being a big issue
