I've found the conversations that surround Clarke bizarre. The guy is 24 and big unit (200cm). Matthews and others keep saying about how overrated he is, yet are first to say that "big guys take longer to mature". So if the guy is 24 and just about to flourish, isn't that a good move by Melbourne? Personally I don't get the bagging he receives. I actually think he might'nt be great yet but give the guy a chance! He's playing in one of the worst teams in the comp, and at FF. The delivery to him is poor, but I think he's currently doing a great job.

I'm worried about Jack Trengove. He just can't get near it!

i rated dean bailey and he was sacked because of a knee jerk reaction after that geelong game... melbourne are filth, and will continue to be.... GWS and Gold Coast have brighter future atm... Melbourne have suffered massively because of the expansion...

Dean Bailey was rubbish. He had no friggin idea but ya can't polish a turd. They don't win contests so they don't get the footy. They ship out their experienced men and their young blokes get smashed week in week out. An unwatchable football team until it's your team's turn to carve them up. A genuine spoon chance.

He also had time. He also had a hand in the premature releasing of player such as Miller and McDonald who still had a bit to give. He also had absolutely no idea how to handle the press despite having a couple of pre-seasons to come up with some sort of gameplan to counteract it. What was Bailey's gameplan? Did he have one? Yeah Melbourne are still on the nose but at least Neeld is trying to implement a gameplan, even if they don't really have the cattle (there's that word again) to implement it yet.

Too many spuds. The only positive to come from this year will be high draft picks in a quality draft.

Reckon they will chase a big gun recruit aswell.
On radio during the week they mentioned that the reason Clarke is on such a big wicket was that Melbourne spend nowhere near the cap so they had to waste a heap of coin on him to get up to the 90% of cap.
Next year they will have heaps to play with as hardly any of the current spuds are worth a pay rise, Magner perhaps.
Its rumoured that Melbourne will make a big play for Cloke next year

Melbourne stink!!

Jack Trengove hasnt played well/or at his normal consistent level all year.Too young for captaincy.

The basic errors that they made under slight pressure tells me there is absolutely no confidence in the group at all. Is the rumour re. playing group unrest on the money?

Its really sad to see a proud club battling. I think they'll struggle against GWS and the Suns.

Bailey had got them 7 wins ( they were 7-9-1 ) before being torn a new one by the Catters at Cat Park in late 2011, no surprise going down there and being pumped. Bailey got the arse because of one bad game in a knee jerk reaction. He had more of a clue that Neeld who is trying to get a very poor list to play a very skilled game plan that he saw work at Collingwood.

Melbourne shat in their own nest getting rid of Bailey.

How long will Jurrah play for until he gets the axe?
