Not exactly a return to write home about, but should hold his spot.

Ahead of about 10 others after todays game.

Agree. Unfortunately the bar isn't being set very high...

I didn't see the game, as I was at Glenelg Oval. However I just read this on afl.com.au

"Key match up
Another Port Adelaide player, who could claim to having won his position, was Chad Cornes. Cornes played a negating role on Fisher, limiting the prolific possession-getter to his worst return (10 disposals) since round seven, 2010, when he was tagged out of the game by Carlton utility Ryan Houlihan. Cornes had a modest return of 11 possessions, but received a cheer from the adoring Power faithful with each touch."

I believe he deserves respect for the player he is today. He may not the star he was in the past, but he's still very useful in this Port team as it stands atm.
But if Port decide they still don't want him, he will be welcomed back with open arms into the number 12 guernsey at Glenelg :)

at least Chad always puts in a 100% effort and is easily in their best 18 players. Not sure why Primus is so anti him.

I didn't get to see much of the game on TV but the bits I did see of the second half I thought he looked very slow, didn't chase, was out of position a lot of the time and charged back into packs and spoiled Schulz. The only value to the team I noticed was a bit of toughness when it came to push and shove.

I wasn't at the game but didn't Chad play a negative role on Sam Fisher.
Very good player is Fisher who's stats read 10 disposals 6 kicks & 4 handballs, 2 marks, 2 tackles.
( just for those that think stats mean everything )

I think he was playing a bit of a negative role and I didnt think he played all that bad. He played in a FWD line that had 11 inside 50s to half time and not many after that! Wasnt the worst one out there!

From the outside looking in it seems to have been the FWD line players replaced/swapped/been un stable yet the delivery is terrible or non existant. Yet Chaplin, Trengrove, Carlisle, Logan, Kane C, Pearce, Broadbent etc all continually turn the footy over up the ground! Just doesnt make sense to me. Atleast Chad uses the footy pretty well and will give a contest.

Thats just what I see anyway.

They might still want the Chad, but does the Chad still want them?
