I thought he bumped him earlier, before the melee, when Curnow had made a beeline for the bench?

Not sure. Montagna bumping him definately led to the start of the melee. This is what I'm assuming he is reported for?

My understanding is that Curnow was injured on the far side of the ground .. Pretty much straight away took off for the interchange gate clearly injured and that was when Montagna tested him out.

What LM did wasn't anything earth-shattering, but if it happened as I thought then I think the suspension is probably fair .. As FS said, if he gets smashed as soon as he comes back onto the ground then that's no worries, certainly fair game then.

correct CP. LM got Curnow within seconds of hurting his shoulder. Koschitzke who bumped EC at quarter time (although i think this is fair play as he came back on), actually hit the wrong shoulder as well, so he was never in doubt of getting suspended. Once coming back onto the field, its fair game.

And Jabber, it was quarter time the all in occured!

Chris Judd has been reported for two separate offences, instigating a melee and engaging in a melee, from last night, but remains eligible for the Brownlow, as both offences are only fines.

Apparently Koschitzke only got off for his bump because he hit his good shoulder, not the one curnow had just injured. If Koschitzke got reported and suspended for that, considering curnow had gone off and came back on, I would have thought every player would go off with an "injury" and come back on since they wouldn't be allowed to be touched. Joke!

That's a contradiction in terms. They would be suspended 99% of the time.

If Dangerfield is ok enough to front this week, Trengove should get 2 games off his 'time'.

I dont mind this suspension at all. Its weak as water to bump somone that is injured. He hadnt been off and come back on, he was going off to get medical attention! When he came back on i have no problem with players 'testing' it out....

I reckon that's right too FS, well said.

I don't have a problem with players crossing the line if that's what it takes either (old fashioned perhaps), but you gotta expect to pay the price for doing so.

Yeah totally agree with the both of use.

If he got injured then came back on he becomes fair game imho, BUT once a player goes down he needs to be able to get off the ground without players trying to do more damage, especially if he is not trying to take part in the contest.

At least Ed Curnow had the courage not to cry!!

Disgraceful effort AFL, the players association if they have any pull and or balls should be up in arms about this. I demand a boycott
