Only FREO would have had less.

RICCARDI, if he had played his footy at AFC, would undoubtedly have gone down* as one of their all time greats.

But then again, RONNIE BURNS would have been up there for the Cows...

You're right MP. The Cows haven't had any champ players.

The Crows on the other hand......

Spot on, but they all played in the same team, at the same time !

Riccardi was Geelong's Simon Tregenza, without the injuries...or skied kicks !

How many of Geelong's current team are champs, using the same criteria that you are judging Adelaide's ?

Well... First thing is to tell you WHICH players I view as AFC's champs.

In no order whatsoever, Goodwin, Riccutio, Edwards, McLeod, Modra, that is all.

I don't want to bring in names like Smart, Hart, McGuiness, Bickley, because they are on a plane with Milburn, Woj, King. All very good AFL players in their time, but certainly not in the echelon of BEST players a club has had.

GAJ, Chappy, Stevie J, Bartel, Kelly, are CHAMPS up there as some of the best GFC has had ever. They are the players I compare with the above Cows, and for me, GFC comes out WAY on top...

PS.

I didn't name one J Selwood, because like the Cows Patty  , he's not at his peak yet.

Adelaide's champion players, or ones that can be measured against other players from other clubs, and still be classed as absolute top-shelf are (IMO of course) -
Riccuito, McLeod, D Jarman, Modra and Hart. (No particular order BTW)

The others you mentioned are definately champions of the AFC.

Ablett, Bartel, Scarlett are the 3 from the Geelong side that jump out to me as current champions. Selwood probably will be, and Chapman and Johnson are very, very, very good players. Kelly ? Nah, but maybe thats just me...

When you are talking about Crows champions, Rehn would be top 3. Surprised nobody else thinks this.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!
