Aker took a pay cut and Bulldogs allowed him to work in media,at least he speaks his mind even if people dont agree with him, instead of usual boring dribble from others.Thought his wife Megan handled media outside the home well.

I loved how she said to the media...."You better go...its cold for you guys outside".

Seems like a top genuine lady :D

The AFL need to be a little less precious about what their players and coaching staff say in the media, people quite clearly want to read it, so what does that say?

But it's not the AFL. The club told him to watch himself and what he says...he says "Yeah okay".....then goes ahead and keeps it up anyway. Had to go. Liability to the club and lack of disclipine would have spread like a wildfire if they had given him yet ANOTHER last chance.
He has been cast aside by two clubs now, and only has himself to blame. Seems to think he is bigger than the team he plays for. Self promoting idiot with no filter or off switch IMO.

LL, how anyone could view it differently is beyond me. The propensity some footy fans have of siding with recalcitrant players just continues to amaze me. Clubs lay the ground rules, and if players don't want to be a part of what is going on they cannot expect to last very long.

It's a hackneyed phrase, but clubs will always be bigger than individuals, and the Western Bullogs will be around long after people have forgotten the name Akermanis.

Very well spoken tonight on Footyshow by Aker.

Something seems seriously adrift though.

I'm not sure what but it just doesn't add up.

I reckon Sammy Newman summed it up at the end well, it was just TOO hard for the Bulldogs to handle him.

A shame, and has done alot of damage to the Bulldogs credability.

I have just spent the last hour watching Jason Akermanis try to justify himself as a scapegoat or victim. What a selfish, arrogant self centred individual.
The fact that he cannot accept the descission &has to go on to the footy show & sulk.He is no better than a spoilt child not getting his way.

He made his bed by portraying himself as an individual trying to set up his future career as a shock jock it now has come back to bite him.Now he will be remembered as a loudmouth who over stepped the mark.
Unfortunately he will be still in the media for a while. But i reackon his days are numbered now that he as been portrayed as non team player.

First time I watched TFS in years last night.

Worth staying up until all hours.

Can't buy Campbell Rose's "absolutely, uneqivocably" stance on the whole club backing the sacking.

Gotta agree with Aker on the interrogation stuff: ridiculous.

Final chapter in his upcoming book should be good read...

However you are wrong on one point, i reckon like it or not, JA will be on our screens for many many years to come. He is exactly the person, that shows like the footy show are looking for.

one thing, it was emabarrassing watch him answering for axka and his spill at the start was rdiciulous.

Clearly newman and acker are similar personalities thatthink they are bigger than their club, thats why they are sticking together on this.. i think you will find lyon and brayshaw look differently at this particular issue.

One more comment. what i think sums up acker is what he did when the CEO left the stage (joke or not) he's in a idiot. But he will be entertaining to watch in his media career.
The man who was best to comment on this situation that was on the show last night was Jon brown.. He knows what acker is like in a footy club situation more than anyone, and look how he acted last night.

That was my first viewing of TFS since 2007 and it was as appauling last night as it was back then. Sam Newman is not the entertainer he or C9 thinks he is and his "vent" about the whole Akermanis sacking, as pointed out by Jono Brown, was so far detatched from what actually goes on in footy clubs and it appeared as though Sam had no better understanding of the situation than any other person who reads the multiple forms of media covering the football.

Brown looked as miffed as I did at Sam's tirade and dribble was the perfect word to describe it.

See you another 4 years TFS...

"P*** off idiot".

Throwaway line to lighten up what had been pretty heavy going thus far.

Though I've no doubt he meant it at the same time...

Right, so he is a twat then.He just does not have any understanding of when to STFU, does he?

Clearly not in Aker's character, but perhaps respectfully declining the offer to go on TFS in light of recent events as "I dont want to upset the Bulldogs playing group any further than I already have when they have a chance at playing well into the finals this September. I regret the happenings of recent weeks and wish all my former team mates the very best for the upcoming 6 minor round games and finals."

But oh no, it's all about Aker.

Flog.
