If his form warrented dropping (which is up for debate) then so be it, but for a club to deny the bloke the chance to take his boys out on AAMI Stadium 1 last time & give the loyal fans a chance to say goodbye as a player, not rolled around the boundry in a ute, was (& I say was because they have come to their collective senses), an absolute disgrase.

It has since come to light that he has been carrying a hip injury for the last 4 weeks, but continued to put his hand up to play, because lets face it, a 1/2 fit Edwards is better then anything we have in the SANFL.

Show some respect, & even if you dont agree with what is going on, Simply say "Fantastic career, & thanks for the 16 years of amazing footy" To hide behind a key board & take pot shots at a bloke integridy is a true sign of your own inadiquencies as most probably either blokes who have never played footy, or were B Graders at local level at best

LMAO where to start with this gem!

1. The old 'you didn't play at the highest level so you can't have an opinion' line.

Love it when some dimwit rolls out this old chestnut. Sorry Adolf but perhaps Internet Forums are not for you.

2. Why didn't you say fantastic career?

I did just that to Simon Goodwin and Brett Kirk. Why, cos they didn't squeal like a bitch. You work it out.

3. The assumumption that I give a 5hit and respect the Crows.

This is not AAMI Stadium or the Crows board. You are going to get people that dislike your club. I don't give a 5hit about the circumstances or the fact that he's been carrying an injury. You cross that white line you're good to go other wise you do the CLUB thing and put your hand up and say you're not right.

4. Hiding behind a keyboard

LMAO 'pigskin'.

While there is no doubt that Edwards has been a fine player there is equally no doubt that his colossal dummy spit and the equally laughable club back down is the stuff of comedic legend. Exucse us all if we all have a good belly laugh at the Rabble's expense.

I agree it doesn't appear rosy but is there anything wrong with the club admitting they erred and reversing their decision ?? It's a bold move and whether it was done to keep him happy or to keep the swell of angry supporters happy who really cares in teh end.
I think all parties have made blunders on this one...

Well I'm not going to race out to celebrate the positives at Crow Land. Hang on, there isn't any.

Agree with everything you said REB.

And now the Crows have done a backflip and are letting him play against Freo for a farewell game...

So he's retired immediately, except for the week after, when he'll play the game against Freo, and then retire immediately again...

I suppose I see it as - what happens within your own family is your own families business-
What happens in your own club is your own clubs/supporters business-
Therefore-
I don't really care what non-crows supporters think...lol -
Crows supporters are happy, Tyson is happy, etc, etc.

This is crazy, if you were going to give him a fairwell game then you should have done it, way too late now. I mean your not good enough this week but hey come on back next week and we'll let you run it out.
I mean why the backflip???
Who is in control over there???

Side note, Edwards and Goodwin are not gone. Burton and Hentschell probably are in the same boat, and young Dangerfield has victorian clubs sniffing around like police dogs.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Very poorly handled all round by all..

Firstly..
Given the upcoming compromised drafts that are well known to all was a major factor when the Crows decided on "allowing" Edwards, Goodwin, McLeod and Burton to go another year, the club must be massively disappointed in a guy that has pulled the pin 9 games in to the season..

Secondly..
No matter how it is dressed up, Edwards has reacted negatively to being dropped from the side and given his form compared to some others, I think he has a case to have been disappointed..

Thirdly..
The question of farewell games will go on forever, but in the cut throat AFL environment that now exists, sentimental stuff really does slip down the order a bit..

Lastly..
The Crows match committee have shown themselves to be in complete disarray over this initial decision and back flip as clearly the difference between Edwards playing one more game and replacing him with a Sloane type is negligible.
There is no doubt management has overuled Craigs decision based on all the supporter rumblings..

I will say though that Tyson Edwards has been a fantastic player for many a year for one club, which again in todays environment is not the norm, and deserves an approriate send off..

Regards REB,

Really intrigued to how you think someone spat the dummy here. Fair enough, that he doesn’t want to end his career in the SANFL fighting to get back in the side which may not even happen. So, he decided to retire and give the young blokes a go. He said he would like (in a perfect world ) to have a farewell match, the crows couldn’t guarantee this. They then thought about it and did guaranteed It. this will happen next week against Freo.

So where was the dummy spit.??

Regards,

Flyer.

ps -for those who havent - go watch the press conference at afc.com.au.
