Looking at Hawthorn over the past 30 years...

- Kris Barlow (102 games)
- Richard Taylor (112 games)

are the ones that come to mind, but still not TERRIBLE players

This is not directed at you but the quote is spot on. Why do we start these threads

How many of us got anywhere near good enough to have even been a flicker of a thought in an AFL recruiters' mind.

Yet, there are 100 gamers who are terrible players apparently.

=D> well said Hondo.. every player that has ever been on an AFL or SANFL list is far from terrible. And any player who manages 100 AFL games deserves the utmost respect. This thread is a disgrace - it must end now....

Career average of just over 10 disposals!

A player of his size should be in the midfield or bagging many goals.
He's not a stong midfield player wracking up possies and is not an example of the modern day goalsneak.
This has nothing to do with him being 'the son of'....

So you want a forward pocket to "bag many goals" ? Thats the job of the key forwards.Sheesh.

In his last 2 or so seasons, he was quite ordinary, but in fairness to McGregor he was fairly handy 5 or 6 years ago. I recall one night he kicked about 5 or 6 goals from CHF against Essendon.

I reckon he needs to kick more than he has mate. He plays pretty much as a permanent forward but rarely kicks a bag. Sorry mate - he's not a dud but he should be doing much better.

Another player I reckon is over rated is Brett Burton. Takes a hanger and can run. What about what he does with the ball when he gets it? He misses so many goals, he must frustrate his supporters and team mates. Saw another example of it tonight.

As for over rated Collingwood players, so I can show I'm even handed - Josh Fraser is definitely one. I worry about Davis also, he's a good player but is he a big game player?

I would agree Burton has been extremely ordinary this year, but apart from this year he was worthy of his spot in the side when fit. Has played some very good games (and a few poor ones) since his debut. All up a good career, in hindsight I think the Crows probably wish they delisted him after last season however.

Sorry mate, I disagree. His ability as a 'match winner' and 'game breaker' has been sorely over rated over the years.

He's certainly an enigma, and as a Port supporter, he's not a personal favourite of mine. I wouldn't put him in the elite or match winner category, however i have admired the way he has come back in recent years after long term injury to be performing at a reasonably high standard after only a week or 2 in the SANFL.

Just making the point that he's another one who's career, certainly couldn't be described as "terrible".

If he'd played a couple more games (he only played 74), you could close the thread at Cain Ackland.

Toby Thurstans played the game of his life in the Power's GF win, and he only kicked 3 goals. I get what people are saying that to play 100 AFL games you've gotta be pretty damn good, so I'll say it like this: "As far as 100+ game AFL players go, Thurstans was POO!"

Never was a fan of Jason Mooney, but, like Ackland, he doesn't qualify (97 games).
