Talk on the national game

Brisbane are in freefall at the moment.

Forget about Adelaide's form this season so far. At home, they'll beat the Lions comfortably.
Punters should take the $2.20 on offer for the Crows and cash in.

After another consecutive loss I reckon Brisbane are the shittest team in the competition. And no, I haven't forgotten about Richmond! Talk about under-performing again!! I'm slightly frustrated. Haha!

Could say the same for him wanting Fev.

Brisbane are going to be in a bit of trouble if they don't make finals this year.

Black & Power are in their finals year/s, Fevola is 29, Brown is 28 and both are struggling with injuries. Browny seems to be injured a lot over the past two seasons.

Problem with Browny now is that when they had Bradshaw, they could push Bradshaw down back or up to CHF, and let Browny take the square, but as they now have Fev, and Fev can only play Full Forward, they've lost the ability to change it up.

They big problem is some key defenders are missing. Drummond and Merrett. Could almost add Brennan to that list because of his size. Still, alot of players in the team are under-performing. Hawksley is shit and Raines isn't much better.

Hence my point re Bradshaw. He was always pretty reliable when thrown back. You've lost that versatility, plus Henderson has played down back for the Lions as well and he's gone too.

Na wasn't too bad. Actually quite enjoyed myself.
Sat next to some Crows supporters who were good blokes and we gave each other a bit of light-hearted crap.
Except for the silver fox behind me. He wanted to kill me every time I cheered for Brisbane.
Some people really need to lighten up at the footy, especially someone his age.

As for the game itself, Brisbane found it difficult to break through Adelaide's zone.
When they did, they generally went wide, avoiding the out-of-sorts Brown, playing into Adelaide's hands.
Got to witness some Fevola magic close up, he kicked most of his goals from right in front of us in the pocket.
Thought Maguire was our best, Banfield did some good things and Leuenberger tried hard in the ruck.
We've got a long way to go if we want to play finals and can't see things getting better this Saturday against the Pies.

The Crows were always going to win that one given that they were desperate for a win, at home and playing a side down on personnel and confidence.

I'd suggest that Jonathan Brown has a serious groin injury and needs surgery. The Lions have obviously hosed down the severity of it. They should bite the bullet and send him off for proper treatment even if it means he's out for the rest of the season.
Seeing him out there reminds me of Chris Judd towards the end of season 2007 when the West Coast Eagles persisted in playing him even though he was lucky to be operating at about 30% capacity.

Injuries have hurt them dearly. Their lacking some real pace through the midfield.

Spot on.

Their skills seemed to have slipped in the last 5 rounds as well. A few players must have started to believe their own press.
