He wasn't overly tall but had a great leap so could dominate the ruck but he was very agile so could also go forward and be a very valuable target. Was a very good follower around the ground too with his speed, agility and endurance. I've tried to pick a modern day player to compare him with but I can't. The closest I can come up with is Dean Cox but about 4-6 inches shorter and much more mobile and just as effective in the Ruck.

How would Adam Goodes compare to him then?

Similar but Michael as far as I remember was taller so would ruck and also go forward too. I know Goodes has played those roles too but Michael's size and athleticism made him a better player. Yep I know Goodes' is athletic too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Some great players in those sides guys,Michael Graham was a total gun ,probably one of the most damaging footballers ever seen in SA and no doubt would of tore the AFL up if he were around nowaday.
Also another achievement not often recognised was Gary Window, a classy footballer and I believe the first player of Aboriginal heritage to win the Magary Medal.

Take a look at the 1967 VFL Grand Final when he shoots out 25-35 metre handball.
He got my vote.
