Nick Davis from the Sydney Swans was informed late on Friday that he would be delisted after attracting no bids in trade week.

Why is that good news for Norwood? If we want them to play, we'd have to find a way to pay their salaries. I'd be surprised if we retained more than one of them. Massie played 2 games for Norwood in 2008.

Heard of a salary cap? I know it doesn't mean much to some clubs, but Norwood DO try to stay within the cap. Yes, I would like those guys, but we may not be able to afford them .... that makes me practical .. not grumpy. Try it some time.

I already know one other club interested in pouncing on one of those players the moment he was delisted (wouldn't be surprised if he was signing a dotted line as we speak), and Norwood won't be able to match the offer.

You know the irony of all this? A contributing factor of their delisting is the Crows were not impressed with a couple of those players making themselves unavailable for Norwood in the finals. The Crows wanted them to play so they could look at them in finals, but the players opted not to.

I can't believe that Jericho and Massie's delistings had anything to do with whether they played 1 or 2 finals for Norwood. Jericho's time was up after 5 years and Massie's age was against him.

What's your source on this rumour?

Carlton delisted Cain Ackland, Aisake O'hailpin, Clinton Benjamin, Luke Blackwell and Ryan Jackson. Jason Saddington has also Retired. Other SANFL teams would be ready to fight with Port Magpies for Acklands services. Maybe he could be the ruckman offered $100,000 a year, which is mind you a huge cut from the absurd amount that Carlton were paying him.
