Collingwood Star in trouble

I can only suggest they panicked when they crashed.
Let's face it- Didak was only recently freed up of the "bad behaviour clause".
Although (without knowing details), would anyone consider Didak wrong for being a passenger in a vehicle that's crashed, driven by an allegedly drunk driver?
That reminds me of a certain Crows player, only recently dropped for discinplinary reasons, who was found to have crashed a car whilst drunk (into parked cars). It was alleged that he was covering up for a certain former Power player, who was already on thin ice...

Scott Burns was interesting. He said along the lines of "If we were playing the St's tonight, and they came into the square and roughed him (Shaw) up,Im not sure I would go in there and help him.By Saturday night I will....."

Wonder what he now thinks of Didak and Shaw now he knows they both lied to him and the club/Pres/playing group.

You're right Dutchy, three blokes miss a game for leaving the hotel, yet a bloke blows 3 times over and Eddie barks at the media they are doing enough...

Who was the rookie earlier this year? Didak last year......working well Ed,working well.

This is all great as far as I'm concerned (regarding the Collingwood footy club)

Firstly, Eddie makes a big hoo-ha about 'dropping him would be wrong' and staunchly defends and actually attacks anyone who might discredit him, his club or that Didak was in the car.

Now it comes out that Eddie was lied to and made a d1ck of himself in front of a swathe of media personnel.

He must be absolutely furious now. And I'm loving it!

I should add that Scotty Burns was brilliant in his summation of the events. Well done. Someone not hiding behind cliches and telling it like it is. That sort of thing is missing in footy these days, but it's a shame these circumstances made it occur.

no surprise to see that you put selfish interests ahead of community-mindedness...
Let's be careful with what we say, as there are 15 other clubs out there with skeletons in their closet.
Next time Nicky Stevens attends a boxing event, get him to say g'day to Mick Gatto for us...
Next time Scott Thompson's doing donuts in his car, get a breathalyser there a little quicker...
Next time there's a sexual assault outside HQ, get the Power to come & pick up a few of their players- very quickly...
Next time North Melbourne have a Golf Day, give Shannon Grant the day off...
Next time there's a sexual assault in a fancy Hotel, get the Lions to come & pick up their players- very quickly...

Didak is still under the "bad behaviour clause" with the current contract he is on. It expires at the end of this season.
As you can imagine Melbourne radio is full of this at the moment. I get the feeling Didak's time in the black and white is well and truly up.

REB, we were just saying it here. What's to say they're NOW telling the truth?

I think Shaw has taken a big rap for Didak, and now would be regretting it big time!

Punk, just take a step back for a second. I'm just giving it back to my Collingwood mates who are quick to get on my case when anything Carlton related hits the news.

You don't know me, so to say that I have selfish interests ahead of the community is just wrong. I think Mr Maguire does, but I certainly don't.

Agree gadj, the big loser out of this is the CFC, but they've made their own beds. Eddie has a mouth as big as "Toad from Toad Hall" so it was bound to happen, just goes to show just how "spin" can backfire when you don't have your facts right and he was caught while blabbing with his chest puffed out, or should I say throat! Scotty Burns was fantastic but I feel sorry for him, talk about being made a fool of, he has every right to be pissed off.
While other clubs are getting very strong on this sort of behavior the CFC are ambiguous and selective, compare suspending 2 players last year while in Adelaide and their initial stance with this now, what a joke! Buckley's comments replayed on Footy Confidential last night were fantastic, my jaw dropped. He basically tore shreads of Eddie, questioning why a President has to come out so loud over such a topic and that you wouldn't see any other Pres in the comp do the same. It made me think that Buckley wouldn't be coach at CFC while Eddie is there.
Makes me think that what Adelaide, as an example, has done with Johncock, Hudson and Welsh is fair enough, probably can't say that about Thompson though.

All clubs have their inconsistencies in dealing with issues. At each club it depends on the profile.
You'd be kidding yourself to think otherwise.

However, by lying about the original situation Shaw and Didak have put their careers under the microscope.
I think Didak is gone, sadly, because he's one of my faves.
However, I don't want to see Didak dropped by the club (if he is) because of the overblown opinions of the 'Chattering Classes' (which include us) but rather because he lied to his team-mates and club leaders. He has put the club in an awful situation with his lie.

I can just imagine what Rebecca Wilson and Graham Cornes will write their columns on for this Saturday's Tiser. A favourite topic for both of them: Wilson - bad boys and Cornes - Victorian clubs not disciplining players properly and footballers drinking. They can't resist.
You're my only friend, and you don't even like me.

If Didak does get the chop which it is seeming highly likely that he will don't be surprised to see him in a Port Power guernsey next season.
