Either they have, or they haven't. You can't have it both ways. We can't complain he has been elevated to Legenday status based on his 7 years with the Saints, and then at the same time complain they have taken his Tasmanian career into account. That just doesn't make sense.
For the record, I think you will find they have taken his Tassie career into account because they list 1961 All Australian as an achievement, and he was captain-coach of Tasmania at that time.
My point is we are always very quick to criticize Victorians for their lack of knowledge of SANFL footballers, but most South Australians wouldn't have a clue what people have achieved in Tasmanian football.
It reminds me of back in the 1970s, we whinged like stuck pigs about the Victorians "raping" the SANFL by taking our players, and yet we turned a blind eye to our clubs recruiting heavily from the WAFL and Tasmania. Total double standards.
Baldock played 397 senior games of football in a career spanning 20 years. His resume reads like a Whos-Who of Australian football, and yet someone on this forum queried his eligibility for Legenday status in the AFL Hall of Fame based on his 119 games for St.Kilda over 7 seasons.
AFL Legend? You betcha.
