Try "the admiration of the nation " for size then????????WTF!

Sounds better than "c'mon, Port Adelaide agression" after their pea-hearted effort in the grand final.

A lot of club songs have always been utterly ridiculous, I'm sure Collingwood really don't think the premiership is a cakewalk after having only got one in the last 48 years.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

Great point Barto - I admit the Crows song is cringey in parts but surely nothing is worse than the 'stop, stop, stop - top, top, top' pop song  :D

PS I tried to pick Redden Whites up on the Hawthorn song but I looked it up and have to admit its OK :(
In between signatures .....

At least Geelong's song is now appropriate as we're finally the Greatest Team of All! :D

How's about the club song for the Brisbane Lions?
It's the National Anthem of France!
...Didn't they surrender to the Germans in World War II?
Great forethought there Paul Cronin aka Dave Sullivan (Gotta love the irony about the period when that Aussie soapie was set!),
Christopher Skase or whoever the hell was runnin the show when that little ditty was made official!

It was Fitzroy's song and the Lions took it on when the merged with Fitzroy. Hardly Christopher Skae or Paul Cronin's fault. :?

Just for the record, I think its one of the better ones although I would prefer clubs had original songs/tunes like North Adelaide.

Central point of the universe, all revolves around the CDFC.

There's also this from the dogs website (http://www.cdfc.com.au/history.htm):

Dogs website wrote:Central District (derived from the agricultural and meterological definition of the Northern area) was to play its games at Elizabeth Oval (a neutral venue as far as the delegates were concerned). The name Central District was already synonymous with a Queen's Birthday Holiday Football Carnival contested by the Gawler, Barossa, Adelaide Plains and Mid-North Leagues.

Not all SANFL Clubs were in favour of the submission. After strong lobbying from Thomas Seymour-Hill and Jack Forrester from North Adelaide the Central District and Woodville submissions were accepted only on the proviso that they serve a 5 year probationary period (1959 to 1963) in B-grade before being admitted into the SANFL competition in 1964.

Pffft. Just goes to prove you should never pat a stray dog as it's sure to bit you after

I for one am thankful as my family were Norwood supporters prior to Centrals entering the comp (Dad started playing for them, the whole family shifted allegiance in his support).
