Blue Boy

People need to remove the Binkers, we should not be focusing on the 10 games Dangerfield may of played in 2008, I rather take a longer term view, potential to play 200 quality games over 15 seasons....

This kid is not the first 17 year old high draft pick to have to complete year 12 studies prior to beginning his AFL career, lets remember, the Crows once refused the Big Pav for these reasons, where did that leave us

I have seen this Kid play on numerous occassions

He has the toughness to play as a defensive or inside midfielder, he is a stoppage specialist and a clearance machine, he has the speed to play as an outside midfielder, and can also play down back... this kid has the capability to play numerous roles, his leg speed, endurance and athletic ability is awesome...

Dangerfield, has been rated Geelong Falcons best player this year, this is a very strong club that has a history of producing elite footballers including Judd

On the others, I am stoked the club selected Otten, this kid may be ready to fire next year, he averaged 26 touches per game as a tall forward in the TAC cup, won his clubs B&F and made the TAC team of the year.... The swans were seriously considering this kid as first round pick

On Cook, he has a reputation as a fierce competitor, who can play down back on smalls or talls (Bassett mould), while Jacky will hopefully develop in to the classy small forward the club has been missing

Armstong and Kite, I do not know too much about...

In cllosing, just wondering where are the Pfieffer critics, surely if he was a sure thing he would of been picked up today

No Blinkers as I want 200 game players as well and feel that Ebert is the better chance to do that - IMO

We have a dark history in the top 10 pick category and I feel that it may have just added to the list.

I would be much more comfortable with local talent as the one we let go all seem to come back and bite us in the bum.

On the other players I dont care if another club is interested in them at all.

Just on one player I think Jacky will find it hard to nudge out Porplyzia - IMO !!!

Dangerfield will be a star, he is Judd like at the stoppages, he wins the ball and breaks away with pure pace....

You can get glimes of this on

http://www.afl.com.au/draft/ - watch the video on the kid...

This kid is the modern footballer, he takes the game on, and can play numerous positions.. he will be a gun and a 200 game player... I am stoked

Jacky and Proplyzia are two different types of players

Jacky is very much a Dale Thomas type of player, quick, creative, can take an over head mark, however, Proplyzia, I hope he starts to play more as a midfielder

the bottom line, the Ebert decision would of been the safe decision

however, IMO, Dangerfield has far more up side, the club rate his speed and stoppage work as second to none

the AFC has shown the courage to pick a player that will not be available in 2009, I believe this courage will be rewarded and by the time this kid plays 50 games, it will be viewed as a stroke of genius

Looking at the selection of Myer Cook, he is a Ebert style of player, so the club must of been confident of getting that type of player, lower in the draft...

Essendon and Bribane were reportly keen on Ebert, they too chose to pass on him, this raises questions in my mind

On Otten's, plays very much like Chad Cornes, can play both forward or back

the comon theme with Adelaide's selection was Pace

Dangerfield, Cook, Otten and Jacky have pace and take on the game (attacking footballers)

Nicw work to all concerened keeping eberyone updated, as a Centrals supporter, disapointed at Stewy Dew not playing for us, but it seems Obst, Callinan, Havelburg, will keep the forward line ticking over in 20008.
8) 8)
Very surprised with the brad Ebert scenario, WC are not a power in the AFL from making silly decisions, they have some great talent from the drafts, players that fit their mould, tough hard runners.Physical types such as Waters and Hurn that will be like fine wines as they get older, premiership types.Ebert will feel at home there.
Time will tell, with how the others pan out, no need to get too excited yet.
Cheers 8)

Should be rookie listed, hopefully for the sake of the best club in Australia one of our reserves sides Port or Crows) list him
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
