I dont think Sydney will give away pick 11 for Mattner and neither they should IMO.

It will be pick 28 and possibly Doyle i think.

Sydney look as if they are going to play a big part in this years trade week.

tottally disagree with most on here. he has played some great games for the crows and was a good attacking rebounding sort of player

he's an exiting player with heaps of potential - he had just lost a little confidence this year . good luck to him playing for sydney - i hope he goes well.

Yep, I'm in your corner. Mattner's a quality player and I wish him the very best Sydney.

It shouldn't have come to this.

Good luck to Mattner at the Swans. Craig never gave hime a chance to develop on the wing which is where he belongs. I can see him going on to play 50-100 games for Sydney.

Marty (I'm sure you're reading this  ), I hope you take this opportunity and show the Crows what they've let go and what they've missed out on by playing you in the wrong possie for the last few years.

As for the Crows, I'm pretty worried. We're going to be losing a few senior players in the next couple of years and I really don't see anyone coming through to replace them. Are Knights, Douglas, van Berlo, Reilly etc ever going to reach the level of Goodwin, McLeod, Roo etc?

Forget about playing finals next year...

I've always been a Marty fan, so i hope he succeeds in Sydney ... I have to admit though, that I don't think his progress has developed at all in the last season and a half - Whilst I agree with the Wing being his best position, Marty's failure shouldn't be put on anyone elses shoulders but his own - Only the elite AFL players in this day and age could survive as a specialist in just the one postition, sadly Marty doesn't fit this bill.

Also agree with Hondo ... Everyone's been crying out for trades and there's now one on the table but most appear unhappy, can't have the cake and eat it too, you need to offer someone of value to a particular club, I wouldn't have thought there would be any takers for a Michael Doughty for example.

Hopefully the Crows do better out of it than an injury prone Ruckman ... Wonder whether they could put a 3rd or 4th rounder with it and have a crack at someone like Fosdike? (who whilst not being an out and out champion would add a fair bit to an Adelaide midfield that is crying out for bolstering).

The Adelaide Football Club has confirmed that Martin Mattner will move to the Sydney Swans.

John Reid told afc.com.au the Crows and the Swans have come to an agreement “in principle”, with the finer details – primarily what Adelaide receives in return for the 98-game player – still to be confirmed.

“We have been in talks with the Swans and agreed to the Mattner trade however we are still finalising exactly what the Adelaide Football Club receives in return,” Reid said. “We are confident the finer details will be sorted out very shortly”.

Check afc.com.au soon for the finalised deal.

What a shocking start to our trade week. John Reid had better pull a cat out of the bag before Friday. IMO his job should be on the line if they dont come up with at least one gun player out of this

Yeah, cause all clubs want to trade away their "gun players".....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

David Johnson would probably repay his contract in the Crows Bar though

Mattner and Kenelly off the HBF's for Sydney. Could do alot worse. Should get pick 28 and Grundy.
Anyone remember that he got most votes in the Browlow for Adelaide last year playing mostly off the wing!
But when Craigy put him on dangerous forwards in the last line he was poo, so don't play him there, bet ya Roos won't!
Just hope he doesn't carve us up.

Neil Craig will coach the Crows to the bottom of the ladder- how long this will take is unknown.
It will be sped up by the continuation of John Reid being employed by the club
Exhibit A- Norwood FC
Exhibit B- Crows players leaving in droves
