Yes, how could I forget such a stellar effort. I guess the Kangas really did prove they were the second best team, deserving of a chance to contest the premiership after all….

Chocco has come out said he played mind games to try and unsettle the geelong players etc.......

I believe that this is a cop out

Port win and he is a genius, they get absolutely blown away and its the mind games - we knew we couldnt beat them etc..........

Why else would he have done it? Of course it was to play mind games. He's not saying we knew we couldn't beat them.

It's like Blight putting Shane Ellen at FF back in the day. It paid off and everyone thinks Blighty's a genius, when really Ellen just had the sun shine on his otherwise completely useless ass for 120 mins. If the Cows had lost, questions would have been asked.

It's like any walk of life where you have to make a decision, back your judgment and put your aggots on the line. Sometimes it pays off, other times your bollocks cop the chop.

Choco is a great coach IMO, and I wouldn't have anyone else at Port Adelaide.

I just think 'chokers' is an ugly word in footy. To my fellow Crows supporters I say keep your mouths shut because what goes around comes around.

Yes they would have, about 13 points closer looking at the Qualifying Final score.

The Crows have been called chokers after the last 3 years and some of us Crows people (including me I admit) had a field day with Port in 2001-2003. And now again in 2007.

I just hate the word ....

have another look at the game, take note of how Port lined up after half time, exactly the same as they did at the first bounce

the first positional change Williams made was putting PB on the ball after half time

the same back 6 played on the same players for the entire first half, Johnson, Chapman and Mooney were towling their opponents

I agree with Carey18

Port's mouths were running hard all week, too bad their players did not run as hard

As a club, if you decide to draw the line in the sand as Port did, FFS you need to be prepared to cop if when you put up a SOFT performance like that

Just watching it now

PB was actually moved in to the middle in the second qtr with 12 and a half minutes to go in that qtr.
It is what it is !!!

What's all this talk about Port Power being the 2nd best side?
I believe Collingwood were the 2nd best side this year, despite finishing 3rd.

I don't think any team throughout the year clearly stood up as the 2nd best side during the minor round - Port, Collingwood, West Coast, Roos & Haws all flirted with 2nd spot.

Hell, even the Crows beat all the Prelim final sides other than Geelong

So therefore you have to go on who made the GF IMO

Any more proof needed? Port beat Collingwood at the MCG in their only match-up in 2007. The Pies finished the minor round in 6th with a 13-9 record and only made the Prelim final by beating an injury-riddled West Coast. A great game by the Pies in the Prelim granted - but to say they were the 2nd best team is making too much out of their super effort in their last match.

The only other GF where I can remember such a dominant performance by 1 team is the 87 GF North v Glenelg.

Interesting to look at the 3 qu time scores in both games:

87 SANFL GF - North 18 goals, Glenelg 4
07 AFL GF - Geelong 18 goals, Port 5

One for the trivia buffs ....... and North Adel supporters :D

Then you have obviously forgotten the 04 SANFL GF, when the dogs won by over 20 goals.

Nup give it out but be prepared to take it when it comes back....What goes around comes around

nothing wrong with dishing it out, it is only wrong when you give it out and then whinge when the "favour" is returned....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I can't work out how its mainly Crows fans, not just on this site that are giving it to Port with various tags.
I enjoyed you jumping on our wagon and Port have given me much more pain than any Crows supporter over my lifetime yet I've managed to be fairly magnaminious in victory.
I let you get on our wagon for the GF but you can all **** off now as I've copped quite a bit of pain from Crows idiots over my life not to mention have to put up with a bus full of the idiots barracking for West Coast in 94.
I hope you enjoyed the ride boys but get off or I'm pushing you off.
