Why do the MCC members get 10,000 walk up seats to the grand final? Gates open at 8am.

Because the game is played on their oval thats why.

Why walk up though.... they should book like everyone else. What if 200 members walk up... then 9200 other people will miss out.

Regardless of my opinions on the actual allocation, all tickets should be pre-sold.

9,200 wont miss out at all. About 5 min before the bounce walk numbers in to the MCC members are totalled and the gates opened to ticket sales limited to the remaining numbers. With an interstate side playing seats will be sold right at the last second if you are prepared to line up in the morning and wait until the first bounce.

I used 9200 as an arbitary number, my point was that there shouldn't be any walk up sales. People know before saturday morning if they want to go to the grand final or not.

All tickets should be pre-sold and anything remaining after 5pm wednesday should be made available to the general public.

The AFL will never ever have a "sold out" grand final ever again if they keep using this method. There are still 8000 corporate tickets unsold according to someone called Grant at AFL house... but if I want that... i gotta pay 1500 for some shitty breakfast with sam kechovic (spelling mistake but i dont care) and his lamb stories.

I'd still pay $1500 for some shitty breakfast with some advertising hack than pay a scalper just as much if not more and get less

Scalpers are asking 800-900 at the moment. Wish I had the coin... but alas I don't.

One "event management" group tried to tell me the ticket to the GF is worth 900, and the breakfast 600.... I email them the copy of the AFL price list for the grand final, which has the dearest ticket at about $205 and all of a sudden their packages are sold out. Quite funny really.

Will there be any possibility of buying an MCC ticket on Sat for a member of the public? If so, how would one go about it?

Any assistance greatly appreciated!

Offer to report them for scalping if the don't sell you one at the legal price. In Victoria it has been announced that he police will be watching and there will be a $500 on the spot fine for anyone caught scalping.

How true but apparently if the AFL sanction it then it is not scalping.

The AFL and the "Corporates" don't give a flying **** about the die-hard supporter/member who pay big dollars as it is and go week in week out!

Got two tickets at 2.10pm for the Medallion Club section for $550. Face value of the ticket was $249.65. Had a backup plan as well but when these tix came up jumped on them! If you want to read more it's on the Norwood Forum under Dear Fester, too bloody tired to type the full story....

But at least I didn't take a loan out for $2300
