when you have a champion team up against the worse team to ever make a GF, No luck does not play a role

GO THE ROOS!
Do you think they'll win?
Cause I might just pop down to the TAB pending your thoughts since you seem to be psychic and all.

What year(s) are you referring to?

I was going to give out my advice, but the sarcastic tune of your post has ruined any chance you had.

I believe there were only four quality team in this years finals - Geelong, West Coast, Collingwood and Adelaide. Port have been very, very lucky - everything has fallen for them in the last 4-5 weeks, incuding now playing the Roos rather than Hawthorn or Collingwood.
Would be interesting to know how many games Port, Hawthorn and Roos won against teams that didn't finish in the top eight last year, and they got to play twice this year.

Carlton lead at quarter time, half time and full time..luck nope, just beat them fair and square...
Choking is not luck....

sydney-dog wrote:you made a comment that the crows in 97 and 98 were worse
in both these years they beat sides in the GF that had won 10 or so games in a row
Does luck play a role I say No
if these good sides can't beat the worse sides, it has nothing to do with luck

As I remember Carlton were 12-10, finished sixth and got killed by Brisbane in the first week of the finals, and the got a home game against West Coast who had finished above them.
They were lucky not to be out of the comp first week.
Essendon's 'choke' is up for debate. I just think Carlton rode their luck in that game.
