First I've seen of the Dees in a few months. They're worse than I thought. Skills awful, couldn't lay a tackle, no structure (lost count of the number of times they would kick out from the back pocket to a 1 on 3 contest..dumb) and completely ran out of legs in that last quarter. If a side was ever just playing for the final siren that was them today. Pies kick straight they win by 20+ goals.

Time for a change of coach.

Actually they've got St Kilda next up, so maybe they should hold off a little longer. Would rather play them under Neeld 8)

In the first quarter Melbourne were tackling better than Carlton did on Friday night although that's not saying much. Problem is when you cop floggings all the time all that is required is that the oppo kick 2 or 3 goals and it's all over and the workrate and belief drops away. When a (competitive) team doesn't 'come to play' it can be only a slight drop off in mental application and it can result in a five goal loss. When Melbourne do this it's a fifteen goal loss as they don't have any belief to drag them back into the contest when things go against them.

They need better support staff and recruiters. Said this many times. Neil Craig come on he has had his day, ditto Connolly. Even Sando is struggling without his right hand man...Neeld doesn't have one.

regards,

REB

Was at the game, and the Dee's continually kicked to a contest after the player had 2 or 3 options to hit up loose players. Was almost like they'd been told to wait for the 'perfect world' option, or to always hold the ball as long as possible before moving it on. Either terrible decision making, or they had been instructed to play that way.
