That's actually a bit sad. Oh well, some lessons are not only best learnt the hard way, but ASAP! Apparently.

wow.......cat fans dont scream at ablett and pickering and co, scream at the afl. If they hadn't granted the suns so many bloody draft concessions and room in their salary cap, then ablett would still be a cat.....

Geelong fans are threatening everything from booing to killing their former favourite son, Gary Ablett Jnr after the news today he was joining the Gold Coast Suns on a 5-year deal.

From their mostly anonymous spots at their keyboards, this is the best and worst of the Geelong fans' comments...

Tyler Durden007 (bigfooty.com)
Jnr is a liar. He undoubtedly made his mind up to take the Scums cash a long time ago and played everyone for a fool to avoid any backlash before now... Enjoy the cash Judas, see you at the Cats vs Scums game next year... if you thought we were venomous with Colbert, you've seen nothing

David Barnett (facebook)
die Gary Ablett!

Commando (bigfooty.com)
i would miss the skilled away games if i were you gaz, karma has got a painful hit with your name all over it

_Me_ (bigfooty.com)
Good bye judas. You are a great player, but a **** person. Sold your soul to the AFL and the GC queens.

Werewolf (bigfooty.com)
Ablett is the biggest mercenary in Australian sporting history

catswhiskers2007 (bigfooty.com)
Dear Gazza... I, like many, have been in awe of your skills as a Cat. I have watched footy over many years, totally spellbound by your old man and his uncanny ability on the footy field. I thank you and the team to giving me the most incredible couple of years as a Cat fan with two amazing premierships and a package of highlights to keep me going for many years. But...today you ripped my heart out. I was dumb enough to think you would stay loyal to the hoops and shun the bucks, dumb enough to think that all the reports and rumours would be wrong and that somehow you would come out and announce your loyalty forever to the club that I love. My 9 year old son is on his bed with his Ablett jumper sobbing his eyes out. He doesn't understand how you can't stay a Cat and that he can no longer watch you with his jumper on.

Waverley73 (bigfooty.com)
I'm just not going to tell my 6 year old - I am just going to tell him that Ablett has changed his number to 35 and got a bit angrier...

MOONEY 21 (bigfooty.com)
Liam pickering dont you dare step foot in our football club again. Your name is mud. You have no integrity ablett, i will be pulling down all my framed memorabilia of you tonight. Ablett will not be able to step foot in geelong again. Talk about shitting in your own backyard.

muttonchops (bigfooty.com)
The first time he plays Geelong at KP i will be booing as loud as i have ever booed before (even more than Colbert) he is an enemy now.

What sad, sad people

Years ago Chris Grant stayed loyal to the Bulldogs but Gazza jumped ship. It just goes to show that Dogs are more loyal than Cats!

Yes REB, they are...

Only because they don't have anyone to cause so much hype and interest...

Except maybe Matthew Westhoff...

Where is all this money coming from.

Do we all pay far too much to go to AFL?

Should TV say Enough is Enough and go somewhere else, AFL would be in BIG TROUBLE...
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

all the people talking about loyalty, get a grip. AFL clubs arent loyal to players.... Carlton had the chance to get Judd and just said See ya later Josh kennedy, and the crows told Ben Hart and Jason Torney they were no longer needed.

i say Good luck to Gazza. and the Geelong supporters ripping in to him, if you didnt have him your premiership drought would still be going

AFL clubs would be making decisions on players futures from half way through the season.
I bet they don't tell the players and delist or trade at the end of the season.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.
