The strong mail is that Gazza is going north which i refused to believe until recently

He will be on close to $1.5mill per year but the speculation is that he is set to be given a portfolio of property which is too good to refuse for anybody.

I dont blame little Gazza for going as much as it is painful, he is a geelong champion but had he remained a one club player he would have had the opportunity to make more money long term I believe.

The fact they are waiting to announce because it will detract from the GF must mean his going to the Gold Coast. If he was staying at Geelong it would be news for one day and then thats it, but if he goes to GC then there will be him parading GC colours, him on a plane to GC, him meeting players for the first time, him training first time for GC.

The blind Geelong faithful think his opportunities in sleepy hollow after football would be more lucrative than what he will earn on the Gold Coast after football if he stayed a one club player, how, who knows?

He will live on the sunny Gold Coast and after this and perhaps one more contract stay on as a coach or mentor or something. By this time the young talent on the GC list will be blooming and with the AFL's help could well be top 4 bound......or......stay in cold miserable Geelong, lose out on about $2m as well as be part of the inevitable slide back down to the bottom half of the ladder that the draft and salary cap dictate must and will happen.

He is gone and I for one dont blame him one little bit.

Have to agree, IMO his goals as a geelong footballer were to achieve what his dad couldnt in a cats jumper and be a geelong premiership player. He has won just about everything the game has to offer and the chance to be a part of "a first" (what ever that might end up being) and lucrative cash is simply too hard to pass up

I refuse to believe he is going anywhere until I hear he has signed on that dotted line. Also, he is my favourite player of all time and I will be absolutely devastated if he goes. I hate even thinking about it. :(
