Who said that? I believe you suggested that if he didn't toe the line he'd be an expensive reserves player and i rubbished that suggestion. He is one of the best players in the comp. Anyone denying that is kidding themselves. He will do stupid things off field though and it will be interesting to see how the Swans handle that.

Did you read the article or the headline? Couple of items left off that would make a difference.

Oh yep forgot about him!!!

If I was a swans fan my biggest worry would be the amount of money that has been lashed out on 'potential' talent (Tippett) and a player who it could be very easily argued is on a decline (franklin)

Tippett is a talent. Franklin is coming into his prime.

Footballers prime is between 23 and 28 with occassional flashes off brilliance after this point in time. Look at the lack of brownlow winners aged 28 and over.

Lol

Tippett is a decent player but his current wage is based on talent more so than his current performances.

Will be interesting what happens when the likes of Kennedy, Hannebury, Jack contracts expire

Thats my point,

you would think by the time in particular Hannebury, Jack, Parker come to their next contract that they will be very close to their 'prime' and would more than likely be expecting a decent pay increase.

While they have picked up some big guns and very decent footballers i agree with others its very hard to see how Sydney are going to spread the remaining salary happily amongst the players.

Sydney will be a club over the next 2-5 years people will be very interested in. This imho will either create a massive dynasty or see them bottom out big time.

I still stand by statement i think the last two signings has more to do with the off field fight versus GWS than it does with Sydneys on field football side.

Sydney have been very active in trading players in recent years, and look like they will be active again this year.

I'm not concerned.

I think Franklin's chronic knee issue means he is now past his best, even if he is still a good player with careful management of it.

See the link to the report hondo posted at the top of the page.
It has been obvious something has been impairing him for a while and that spells it out.
I'm not saying he is a dud or past it - he is still a good player just not a reliable and dominating as he was.
