Is that right, I didn’t know that. My comment was more so that CEY would be upgraded to fill Smith’s spot before Murphy

The following was in an article from JAY CLARK, Herald Sun
May 19, 2017 7:00pm
But there will be a major change to the rookie list provisions next season that will allow Category-A rookies to be available for senior selection from Round 1.

Previously Category-A rookies have been forced to wait until a serious injury or other list vacancy to be promoted, but those restrictions will be removed for 2018, giving clubs greater flexibility to promote fringe players.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Is Harry Dear a real chance to play rd 1 in front of Jenkins? Played a great first half Dear. I'm a JJ fan but he would want to play well in the last JLT game...

Really liked CEY's game, pressure on Greenwood now.

Hampton got plenty of it but burnt it. Hopefully just getting the preseason rust out.

Yeah a bit of first game rust. Still went at a decent disposal efficiency.

Very small ground so players who like space found it difficult and plenty of kick under pressure due to numbers around the ball.

Really like how Dear goes about it. Doesn’t look out of place at afl level, can definitely see him playing if Tex doesn’t get up

From the little bit I saw on TV I thought Strath oval looked in good condition. Reasonable crowd too. Anyone on here go to the game, be interested to hear what they thought of the ground and facilities. I think the footy club down there has spent a bit of coin on some upgrades.

The new clubrooms have been funded by AFL, state government, council & RSL grants.

yep, but seems like they basically do all the same work as the normal list but without the rewards.

The rookie list is good for Cat B rookies i think. the other one should just be renamed supplimentary list where you can select anyone that didnt get taken in the national draft

You can only sign rookies to one-year deals and keep them for a maximum of 3 years before you have to delist them or elevate them.

It's really only for top ups, as Port have done with Thomas, or opportunity to prove yourself at the higher level, as Adelaide have done with Jarman.
