Hard bloke to warm too, but the record speaks for itself.

Used to enjoy his battles with Stevie Baker.

Met him out once after a game, had a joke with him and asked if he'd driven tonight (it was not long after his drink driving conviction)
.. From the look he gave me Im pretty lucky to still be here to type this.

He was with Mackie and Milburn and all of them seemed like good lads, particularly Mackie.

Probably almost confirms that Dangerflog is heading there.

Crazy move for mine, I still think Stevie is in every teams best 22 and will be for a couple of seasons yet. All class and hard as nails.

On behalf of Port, we will happily take him.

These views are those of wristwatcher and not of all Port Adelaide staff, members, supporters. ;)

Spend a bit of time with him mate and you will find he is not hard to hate. I liked him until I met him.

I think they are targeting Adam Treloar from GWS rather than Dangerfield. Don't think there will be an over the top offer for Dangerfield, if we wants to go home for family reasons a huge offer isn't required. Reckon they hope to get both

GEELONG coach Chris Scott says he expects some backlash to a decision not to offer Steve Johnson a new contract, but that the good of the club had to come first.
The Cats and Johnson finally confirmed this morning that the 2007 Norm Smith medallist would play his last game for Geelong against Adelaide tomorrow.
He will join James Kelly and Mathew Stokes in farewell games, after the premiership trio were told they were not required beyond 2015.
“These are really difficult decisions, they’re complicated, and in a lot of cases they’re really marginal, so we understand that there will be people that will be very disappointed with it, the players included,” Scott said.
“We’re resigned to the fact that while we’re certain we’re doing the right thing for the footy club, there will be a lot of people that disagree.
“It’s our job to wear that and make sure that we act as unemotionally as we possibly can in what are very emotional decisions.”

Booney wrote:If Johnson signs at another club for two years it will be a bigger mistake than Chapman going to Essendon.I understand these blokes want to get as much as they can out of themselves, but after a few flags, champion playing career, why tarnish peoples memories with a token year or two where you play 15-18 games?

Johnson looked frustrated at the start of this year, couldn't bend down, fumbled and it was probably a sign of a poor injury interrupted preseason, but is he really capable of lifting to another level with the rest of the competition next year? Every year the game gets faster, more demanding, when you're the other side of 30 I'm sure keeping up is hard enough, let alone getting faster again.

I think the "don't go elsewhere to protect how people remember you" is much of a factor at all. I don't think people look at Doug Hawkins any differently for his stint at Fitzroy, or Dermott Brereton for his time at Collingwood and Sydney. He will always be remembered as a Geelong great

A good day for Catkind. Menzel, Vardy and even Cowan got through the game today. Think of who is going out and who might possibly come in. With perhaps an easier draw next season we will be back sooner rather than later.

Hearing a lot of talk about Horlin-Smith trade to Crows as part of Danger deal. Any Geelong people have any opinion on this lad? I can't say I have ever noticed him.
