Buddy's mate James. He looks likely to be in Perth or overseas at the moment.

If he leaves Sydney it will be to go to Western Bulldogs where his dad played (for Footscray) or Essendon where some of his mates from Xavier College are. Only an opinion...

Either that or Collingwood are shit. ;)

I have no doubt about that at the moment. Our last two games were a disgrace. My concern is that we're not even as good as our last two games.

And you would still beat Geelong. :(

I'm all for footballers running amok and not really having to be role models, Fevola was my fav, doesn't always bring the best out of a footballer though

How has it affected Buddy? Going to Sydney might make him a better player. Has worked for many others.

Culture change is well under way. Bucks using the leadership model that has been succesful at other clubs. Hopefully translates into on-field consistency.

There was an article late in the season saying Buddy had "chronic" knee injury that would need management for the rest of his career.

They've paid overs for him but for Buddy clubs were lining up to play overs for him so Sydney played it the best to land him.

On BigFooty there are a lot of Tippett style hate rants from last year directed at Buddy on the Hawthorn board.

And so there should be, him and his manager strutting around and treating the Hawks as though he is an unrestricted free agent.

Lol, does sound that way doesn't it. He's a hell of a player. Is he worth a 9 year contract? No, but a lot of the stuff being said is a bit much. His loose off field behaviour isn't likely to be reduced though. The reason he is moving is because it won't be as heavily scrutinised. I've heard people suggest that players fall in line with the Sydney culture and pull their heads in. Buddy only falls in line with Buddy though and i can't believe that further stroking his ego by giving him the contract the Swans have will give him the message that he is expected to tow the same line as everyone else.

Well if he doesn't toe the line, he will be an expensive reserve player.

Why wasn't the COLA scheme scrapped last year after the premiership club used their extra funds to secure a league star?
Actually why wasn't it scrapped after free agency came in. Blind Freddy can see clubs with extra coin have a serious advantage in negotiations.
Now that Perth is Australia's most expensive Capital City will they get COLA? Good luck to the rest of the comp if they did.....

Yeah, i can see that happening. He will be the best player at the club, on a massive contract that is controversial (even with some Sydney fans) but if he plays up off field then "sorry Bud, go to Canberra and play in the twos". For the Swans sake i hope their PR department has a COLA as well.

Is it? Got any stats to back that up...or a link to a 404? ;)

I believe Sydney still is but the cost of living is irrelevant, COLA is the justification for the AFLs war chest for use in the Rugby heartland. Even if Perth was the most expensive City it wouldn't change a thing as they don't follow league in Perth.
