Melbourne had a special case with theirs as the lists were already completed and lodged for the next season.

Well thats a little ordinary! Imagine if it was someone like Ablett, the best player in the game and someone who you wouldn't think of delisting, and the AFL goes there there its ok, you dont have to delist one of your rubbish players :P :D

Although some people are guaranteed to privately question the technicalities of the rules that Port are about to have to deal with, I doubt that they will voice any public outcry, because they then devalue the honest true emotion they showed at the passing of McCarthy.

Not sure there needs to be a (judgement?) link between expressing a view on the compensation Port get and the memory of John?

Struggling to word this the right way and hoping it makes sense.

Just offered Jay Nash up for trade.
Then I was told Jay Nash isn't on our list.
Then I remembered I have been making him sandwiches for lunch for the past two years.
Who the hell has been eating the sandwiches?

Hombsch and Neade look to be good additions to the squad.

Credit where its due for Rohde on this one, although obviously can't be fully judged until we see these lads in action in the next few years.

Neade looks freakish, hopefully he can kick on and become one of the stars of the game.

Pretty happy with this. Hombsch will get some game time almost immediately as a replacement for Chaplin (and is a pretty good size too @ 194cm.

Neade will take a couple of years to put some size on.....but his pace will be a real asset for port going forward, in that Cyril / Jetta type of player with his defensive attributes attracting huge recognition from his coaches, and also has a huge engine (15.1 in a beep test) and is very quick.

2 long term prospects for pick 29 is great imo.

They do sound like good pickups mate .. I guess the only question mark as how highly are they rated to get them both for a 2nd round pick?

Regardless though, looks an excellent step for Port in their quest to get some quality project kids for the years ahead.
