Isn't that standard for port supporters? ;)

I generally go regardless of the weather. I remember a crowd of about 17k pissing with rain and freezing cold and we got pants by Carlton at footy park and thought to myself what am I doing!

I'm crook tho and the weather looks like total shit.

Totally understandable. Most people understand your situation but will shitbag it anyway to pretend they would not do the same thing.

Reckon?
Kids & the Chooks got byes this weekend, I'm heading along, yet to see Port at AO.
Love watching footy in the winter, nothing better.
There's another big blotch throwing up all sorts of wind & rain about 2 hours away, gloves & beanies.

Ports bench and organisation is an absolute rabble!!

First their was the Hartlett incident

This week Ebert tries to get off the ground with blood pissing out his head yet has to wait a few minutes while the port bench organise an interchange

Shambles

Bullshit. That's a direct result of capping rotations, Had nothing to do with getting someone ready.

He was standing at the interchange gate yelling at the bench to get someone to replace him

Player welfare should always come before the capping rotation so even if that was the reason that shows further evidence of Port putting the game result ahead of players health

It's not often u ever see a player want to come off with 'bleeding' so when a player does u have to treat that as something pretty serious whether it is or not

Crowd 27935

Lowest crowd ever at the portress.

And the stadium isn't even 3 seasons old.

Hate to say I told you so......

The crowd resembled an SANFL game at the start. Shocking turn out.

You're allowed medical rotations that do not count in the capped number.

Player has to stay off for a designated period of time though.

Stood behind the bench 3rd qtr, Ebert tried to come off in the middle of a two man rotation & there was some confusion, the 3rd ump came over & gave the blood rule sign then the ball was turned over & Ebert had to turn around & head back out, only to return with another rotation going on. Was a bit of a mish mash. Fair cut to the head bleed all night.
Yes Boon it was freezing.
GWS seemed to struggle with the wind blowing hard to the eastern side in the 1st half, wind died down after half time & they turned it on.
Port struggled to get back after pushing up hard & were left rudderless when the ball found it's way forward early, should have had a bigger half time lead.

Saw yesterday how important Dixon has been as the big target forward for us this year. Schulz had 2 touches at 1/4 time, had 2 more for the match. Butcher had 2 touches at 1/4 time, had 5 more for the match. Simply had no impact on the game. Throw in 11 touches for Wingard, 12 for Westhoff and just two goals between these 4 and there's the win and loss right there. Same amount of inside 50's, more marks in side 50 and if it wasn't for an outstanding performance from Ebert and Gray we would have been smoked.

Again poor ball use cost us, we aren't ranked 17th for efficient disposal for no reason and I hope this summer the footys are out before Xmas as we are shit by hand and foot. Wines and Mitchell had 50 touches between them and both went at 40%.

Again the skipper was good, Pittard the best of the back 6 and Trengove battled hard against bug Mummy who while taking the points in that contest pretty easily didn't have a huge impact on the game. It was our ball use, again.

So it's officially now season over and I'll sulk for a few days before I work on a post mortem of season '16.

On a side note I got into the 5AA Locker room. You get in an hour before the game starts and the drinks package goes until the end of half time. ( 3 hours ) You watch the players warm up through the double sided mirror, plentiful selection over the bar ( Peroni, thanks ) and trays of food that never seem to stop. Tempura prawns, party pies with mashed peas and sauce ( mini pie floaters ), slow roasted pork belly, salt and pepper chicken, all of it excellent. Only pisser was the seats were in the rain, but, thankfully my normal seats are just above this area in the Riverbank stand so I'd grab a tray of Peroni's and head up to my seat. Monday morning isn't the greatest I must say.....

Given the conditions last night, do you think a stat like disposal efficiency is a bit misleading?
Clearly there was a direction to gain territory and clear the ball quickly, Wines regularly worked out of congestion and kicked the ball forward to space - didn't hit a target but found space and Port could regather.

Some of the handballs in close were terrible though, and picked off at will.
