Plenty of dialogue from Andrew D, but very little action. No surprise in the 'velvet tongue' response. I bet the phone's have been running hot to all state leagues with a list of 'how to answer the questions from the local press' instructions.

The Demons would not comment last night, but Davey is said to be angry he cannot contact Mifsud about the disputed comments.

Mifsud did not name Davey, but it is known he has been identified as the source at AFL headquarters. Davey sought to speak to Mifsud on Tuesday night and again last night, but failed.

i shook my head also but it doesnt surprise me in the slightest, the AFL over the last few years has gone 'racism mad' i am putting my neck on the chopping block here but so be it, the AFL has also gone 'indigenous mad' pumping money into programs to increase participation in footy - just watch the marngrook footy show (which i watch) and you will get an idea on how many resources are being used by the AFL.

The problem is that as soon as a person like mifsud misbehaves racially the powers that be dont have the balls to do anything about it simply because he is indigenous!!! everyone starts walking on eggshells and stick their collective heads in the sand, pure and simply his resignation should have been accepted, different strokes for different folks as in all walks of life these days.

Let me digress, my 14yr old son cannot understand how the indigenous students at his school can do what they like, eg: walk out of class and go to a special room if they get stressed, are alllowed to wear earphones in class, arrive in class when they feel like it and so on and so on, again the powers that be create 2 different set of rules, one for the white and one for the dark, this creates more angst and racial hatred but the buffoons running the show cant see it, seems to be the same with the AFL

Agree with the sentiments here, I am sick of hearing how when a player of indigenous background does something amazing it is because he's indigenous! No he's a footy player, Stevie J does some freakish things is that purely because he is from a white background?

I suspect that government, sporting bodies etc are of the opinion they are to tell everyone not to treat them differently while doing that exact thing at every turn.

we are so worried about racial vilification in all walks of life and the way the authorities handle this is go the other way, ie: let the aboriginal kids do what they like at my teenagers school, let mifsud get away with his shite and refuse his resignation simply because who he is and who he represents

ie, it's racism! Anyway you look at it, if you favour one race over another for any reason, for any purpose, it's racism.

Did anyone watch AFL360 last night? Both comperes were saying that Mifsud shouldn't be sacked because this is one blight on an otherwise very successful career. Yes he's made a mistake but don't lynch him for it. He's done so much for the Aboriginal community and AFL in general, he should be forgiven. Ahhh, what about Rendell?
