Interesting that it only says Tippet is believed to be involved in the trade but not in the intial deals mentioned... trying to sell papers  ;)

Exactly correct Footy Smart. The actual proposed trade didn't include Tippett at all.

Way to care about journalistic integrity there Advertiser!

Matthew Bate has asked to be traded from Melbourne, would he be a good replacement for Gunston (not a swap) with a third round pick? He plays the lead up forward like Gunston did.

I am getting pissed off with the Crows now if this is true.
Twitter (@TradeWeekRadio) have said that the Crows have knocked back the compo pick (14) for Maric. If that is what they were after, why wouldn't they have taken it? If not WTF more do they want?

There's so much bogus twitter that goes on these days that I would ignore it

Someone last wek had registered a twitter account in the name of bsanderson.crows or something and was making tweets allegedly about internal Crows business. All completely bogus.

I don't have an issue with the clubs using the whole week on trade discussions. It's us fans (fed by the media) that get too impatient for news on the blockbuster trade deal that we expect to be signed by 5pm on Monday. I think we all just need to calm down our expectations on news rather than demand the week be shortened. Is trade week for our personal benefit or for our clubs? If it takes the Crows all week to work the best deal then that's fine by me.

although havent seen a great deal of the Kid, Gunston hasnt overly impressed me, from memory has played one good game at this levell and im not conviced it was a top tier team if crows could get any of the blokes that have been bantered around IE Young, Ellis or Bate i think they should be happy, im a huge fan of Clinton Young and think he would be very handy at the crows

Clinton Young would be a huge get. Played out of position this year and if he stays injury free can do a lot of damage.

Media Park wrote:So the theory with O'Meara...

GWS are trading him somewhere (tick).
He becomes that clubs player.
That club then trades him to GWS for a draft pick?

The only problem there is that trades aren't official until the end of the trade period (according to the AFL website), so you can only be traded once....

So where does O'Meara go?

The word on o'meara is that he is going to GC in exchange for pick 4.....means that GWS have the first 5 picks in the draft if it goes through.

Well that works... And GC will be better in another twelve months with their kids improving, and he's apparently ready-made, so it could be interesting...

And having the first five picks, if done right, give a couple of years, and the new boys will be in finals... :D

Jag was very hesitant about signing up with GWS as a pre selection because he didn't want to go there.

Very interesting that then GWS tryed to get him back anyway..
