Totally agree, Cooney would not be on my radar

My mail is Hazelby will not be at Freo next year, yes he may lack leg speed butr he is a ball magnet and a very smart player.

Jay Nash is the other player I would target, he has a huge engine and I believe he could be another Scott Thompson success story

Hurn is also out of contract, his body strength, kicking skills and ability to play a range of roles would be a huge assett

Having said the above, at 26 if he is still fit he would be worth acquiring if he did not cost us too much in terms of losing potential long-term players, and in terms of the salary cap. It doesn't do a lot of good to have a resentful team because one player is getting a lot more than anyone else!

I believe Pav's year is better this year than 2006, he is on target for 70+ goals and all Australian selection, his salary will be what the market demands

watching Pav today, he looks like he is enjoying his footy again, if I was a betting man, I think he will stay at Freo

Haselby, Pavlich, Johnson....you blokes haven't been paying attention. You might as well see if you can get Matty Lappin as well. REBUILD, not top up. You're going to have to rebuild anyway but if you top up first it will take you longer to get there. Watch Port and Brisbane, not Essendon.

REB

If the crows recruited Kane, I would be extremely disappointed and yes would consider that to be a top up strategy

However, I do not consider recruiting Pav or Hazelby as a top up, both players have 150 games of footy left in them....

Was Ottens a top up strategy, or a strategy of recruiting for a purpose, I believe the latter

I did not realise Haselby is 27 next year so I would not target him

I can't believe people consider Pav to be a top up strategy

if that is the case, Victorian clubs should not go for Judd, another top up strategy

2 guys we should throw a lot at:

Daniel Bell & Henry Slattery

Unfortunately I think Bell re-signed last year. Not sure about Slattery.

A couple of stoppers. Hardly going to march to September glory on the backs of these guys.

1. Every club needs stoppers.

2. You are underrating them. Slattery held Kerr to 3 kicks and has stitched up many great midfielders while Bell is a terrific young defender/tagger who would be a great asset.

If the Cows were going to target anyone from the Bulldogs they should be loading up for Griffen, however the chances of the Bullies letting such a talent go would surely be close to FA.

If the Cows were to trade Meeson to the Bullies it wouldn't surprise if they took someone like Cameron Faulkner who they've always been keen on, yet has struggled to make any form of impact in his few years with the Woofs.

Yep, he will be on the market...can't see Carlton hanging on to him..
If we do get rid of him, we will be just about be the only club at years end
without a player on the list older than 28...

I reckon Cam Faulkner would be looking to come home to SA as well. Considering his missus is having a baby in the next couple of months.

you would assume the WB would be targeting Talls

the crows have had two attempts at Faulkner, but the Bullies have not wanted to do a trade, I believe he can play, not sure why he has not produced at the WB

Kane Johnson has no commitment for the crows...

If he wants to come back he needs to prove his loyalty... maybe a crows tattoo or something?
