Western Bulldogs? He hasn't actually left Carlton either btw. Nice work getting in yet another Adelaide sledge LOL. I reckon logically the Crows would be the best option if Fev was to leave the baggers.

On and off the field Adelaide take the least amount of risks possible,Fev is a huge risk.Crows would not touch him.

He has not left them, yet.I think he will be expelled from the club.Greg Swan is running Carlton now,he was at Collingwood when Tazz was given marching orders,he has form.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

The Roo has played down the chances of getting Fev, due to the culture of the AFC... interesting....

Crows did not want to take the risk with Big Sav and paid the price of a premiership maybe....ended up with 100 games with the Roos...so i think Booney is OTM

Problem is we are all forgetting exactly why he is even being touted as a trade possibility ..... easy to assume the problems stay with Carlton and this gun forward goes to his new club

'Problem children' don't always mend their ways

I'd be surprised if the Crows chase him based on the club's apparent youth policy

The only thing there is that the Kangaroos weren't pushing top 4 once Sav joined them and Collingwood were happy to let him go and then went on and played in 2 GF's without him (assuming I have my years correct there ... I'll stand corrected).

So, apart from his 100 games, there isn't compelling evidence that the Big Sav was going to transform a team. He was good for the Roos but we could be over-playing his impact with them (or hypothetically with the Crows) I reckon.

weve had this arguement before but he averaged just under 3 goals a game in 100 games for the Roos, conceding the Crows were a better side in this period I would say he would have matched that or even improved on it, from memory they went with Richardson from Westies instead?

Dont underplay how good Sav was in his career, sits in the Top 15 of alltime goalkickers

Dutchy I must be losing track of our arguments ... :D

I'm not meaning to diss the big Sav he had a long, productive career - I distinctly remember him carving up the Crows around 92 or 93 at Victoria Park

For interest's sake, the forwards picked up by the Crows from 2000-2002 were:

Evan Hewitt
Adam Richardson
Daniel Schell
Ryan 'Fitzy' Fitzgerald
Trent Hentschel
Wayne Carey

So they were definitely looking for a big forward, can't say that any of them achieved the desired result except for Hentschel. Granted, Sav did more for the Roos than any of those guys in the same era, I just question if Sav would have made the difference v West Coast this last 2 prelim finals or even in 2002.

I'd guess that Scott Welsh would be averaging similarly to Sav in goals and games in the same period?

Getting back on to the topic ... with Hentschel to come back and Biglands possibly releasing Griffin to play the key positon he was drafted for, I'd guess Craigy would leave Fev alone given he'll be around 27 by the time he gets on to the park in 2008. If it were me, I'd say let some other club get its sports psychologists on to him and try to get him switched on properly.

Due to the culture of the club they wouldn't pick up Fev, but the culture of the club would allow them to pick up Carey? Maybe theres something behind the scenes that we dont know about!!! (Ms Edwards v Ms Mcleod anyone  )

At 26 he may be on the brink of becoming an adult in the right environment. Martin Pike eventually straightened out. He would be a risk though, but a better bet then taking Wayne Carey on was.

Pretty sure Griffin has always been a ruckman.

John Reid has also come out and said they arent interested. Good decision in my opinion.

I hope the Crows dont go down this path. Yes Fevola can kick goals, yet a major part of the game these days is hard ball gets and turnovers, both of which Fevola strikes out on. If Fevola has issues at Carlton that are ongoing from last season, what is the garantee that a change of clubs is going to improve the situation? If the Crows want a quality forward, maybe they need look no further than Hargraeves of the Central District football club if they can trade for an early enough pick in the draft.
