4 time AA,AFL premiership Captain,SANFL premiership player,200 AFL games, never reported/suspended (very important when stating some one is a champion, see Greg Williams) how can he not be considered a champion?

I dunno maybe I'm more selective in throwing around the term "Champion".....

FWIW most of the names I mentioned in my 3rd last post I wouldn't call champions either...

play on.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Dinglinga, Never said Twedders hasnt achieved anything..and I have- that was a pretty amazing conclusion to draw by my comment. Twedders has been a decent AFL footballer and a premiership player- so has Aaron Keating BTW- and all the while has been a very average shot on goal- and taking the gas on occassions IMO.

I thought it was pretty obvious i wasn't directing my comments towards Dinglinga, it was more directed at people such as the original poster, who i thought Dinglinga was referring to in his post.

Like your current AFL coach I admire Bobby for his work ethic and determination but not even I would start to compare Bartlett with Tredrea, if you want to mention them in the same sentance and make comparisons you go ahead.....

I hope you didn't think i made that comment seriously :P forgot to put my sarcasm alert on d'oh!

Anyway, as you say, play on, we all have our differing views about who is and isn't a champion.

I think 'champion' is a very subjective term. There is no right or wrong because it comes down to what you personally classify as a champion. I for one am more like tassie, i think that calling anyone a champion should not occur until 10 years after they have retired; i believe that only in retrospect can you truly assess a players value. but thats only my personal opinion so there is no right or wrong. for what its worth i think that afl commentators are the other end of the spectrum, they call anyone and everyone a champion all the time, even bryce gibbs is being called a champion player by media... ffs,he's super-talented but he's still a baby

p.s. now alan bartlett, there's a champion! ;-)

Spot on .....

I saw Alan Bartlett was not on Tassie's list but said nothing .... like all of us, I knew Tassie didn't want to diss the great man (the B-Train) by associating him with the likes of Carey and Hird ... mere plebs .... the gunk in the eyes the B-train wipes out when he wakes up

:D

I think we have found a champion Tosser. So what is the limit on champions 7 or 8? No champions allowed after 2000?

Yep, Judd, Brown, and dare I say it McLoed....

As I said before depends on your own definition of a champion, for mine not something that is thrown around loosely

its always easy to kick a bloke when hes down........sure his form hasnt set the world on fire but if tredrea not a chapion i dont know who is........i admit the knee injury has set him back but like all things takes time........but if i was playing AFL i sure as hell would love his record...........

remember guys Tredrea has put the score on the board and there are only a handful of players that could boast a resume such as his..............Tredrea is a true champ and excellent ambassador for the game.....

Tredrea isnt half the player Brett Burton is...

Seriously, I personally think that there isnt much between Jonothon Brown and Tredrea and are both the champion forwards of the past 10 years.

If I had a choice of bringing Tredrea, Matty Richardson or syphilis into my team and I was looking at creating a winning culture, I'd choose syphilis.

Hargs, Tredrea, Richardson, all play for crap clubs, why not!
But Hargs is better than syphilis unlike the other 2.
(Otherwise the Maggies would only have 1 win this year)
