Nope i'm actually a Port supporter, i put this thread in to keep things in perspective after your previous one on here. You were bagging Port, i just thought you should give a bit of credit to the club and not slag them off because they've lost a few players.

And how is 'has Port effectively replaced these players, I think not' slagging off the Power geniear5e? Like I said, good post NOT. If there's even a hint of Power bagging then Booney would be on me like a shot, perspective is something you sorely need, Why TF should I be giving credit to the Power?? FFS!!

..dang got to stop posting before my morning coffee :)

You mentioned something about "the last person to leave turn the lights out" to make it sound as though it was a poor reflection on the club. The fact is yeah, we would have liked to have held onto Carr, but i think thats just a reality of the AFL in the 21st century. I dont think losing Pickett will be such a big deal, unless he has a boom year with the Demons. We've basically picked up Daniel Motlop as a replacement, hes 5 years younger than Pickett so is definitely a long term prospect (just have to hope he stays injury free). Montgomery has gone, but another reality is that the club needed to slowly get rid of some of the older players. Lonie has come in, he could become a handy player, certainly is quite versatile which is what the club needs. In an ideal world Port would have had some early picks and been able to pick up a Riewoldt or a Judd, but we've been penalised for our consistently high placings.

Our squad is certainly not exactly how we'd like it, we are certainly in a rebuilding phase, but at the same time the club will be aiming for finals and if they play to their potential finals are certainly a possibility. I'm more than happy to admit that Geelong have done exceedingly well in rebuilding their club after the loss of Bairstow, Hocking, Brownless, Stoneham etc. And then theres West Coast, they were hopeless during the Judge era, but have managed to rebuild on 2 to 3 years.

I enjoy your posts on here REB, but i must say when i see something slightly critical of a club that i support, i'm always very eager to stick up for them.

So yeah i was a bit provocative but i think we've all been guilty of that on this site at one time or another.

Cripes GWW, I've said heaps worse about the Poower than 'last one out turn off the lights' my good man. It's just a figure of speech. Looking forward to sledging the papsmears a bit more as the decline continues heh heh.

2004 - Just beaten by the Lions on the Saturday night, who knows what may hae been if they had got up.

2005 - Everyone raves about the Swans flag but gee the Cats did everything but win that night in the semi final.

Geelong should have won both these games but lacked the knockout blow. Maybe 3rd year lucky?

Hope the Hawks play down at Kardinia this year, we are due a win against you guys....
