BODE ???????????????

Talk on the national game

If Bode misses tow thirds of the season and if either Vince, Douglas or Proplyzia take their opportunity at playing that small forward role than it could be stumps for Bode

Good year in 2006, but unfortunately too many injuries throughout his career

Bodes last 2 games for the club have been stand outs - dont write him off yet !!!

With the 3 you have mentioned I could only see Porplyzia filling the role - Douglas will play midfield.

Classic passenger who performs when the side is flying. When he has to fend for himself the touches dry up.

Booney, doesnt that make him a typical half forward/pocket then ? If the team is flying then there are opportunites galore.
I think calling a Bode a passenger is unfair, is pretty courageous for a little bloke. I would have thought his tackling and ball-winning ability would be amongst his strong points - hardly the traits of a frontrunner.

Bode is an inspirational and courageous player. The negative comments on here are from Power supporters who are annoyed because they got rid of him.
The crows are easily a five goal better side when he is playing.

Not negative, see above, all small forwards are of the same mould and rely on the same supply.

I reckon Bode is very underrated and if I were picking the Crows best 22, would have him in there every time ... Not a consistent match winner off his own boat, but adds plenty to a team that isn't ultra strong in contested possession at this time.

Mate, keep up.About 5 comments ago you said "negative comments about him because Port got rid of him",well,I thought you were referring to the fact he now plays for Adelaide, not Port. That is why I was jealous.I was stating I am not jealous you have him at all.It may have been sacking blokes like him that helped us build a squad that could win a flag.

Get it?

From memory Bode came via the trade of Shaun Rehn to Hawthorn. Hawthorn gave a draft pick (I think) to Port, Port gave Bode to the Crows

Just some trivia, no real point being made

You may of missed my point Boon !!!

Hard Ball gets and tackles do not reflect a type of a player that is a passenger at all. He is a hard working small forward and the above stats from last year show that - especially his tackle count to be in the top 6 of the competition is reflective of his very good work ethic in a team that was flying.

As for his stints @ Glenelg in 03/04 - every coach has there favourites Ayres played Skipworth in front of Bode !!!
It is what it is !!!

Correct - pick 12. Crows received it for Rehn and traded it to Port for Bode - Port used it to draft Shaun Burgoyne
