Crows/Freo

Talk on the national game

Postby Hondo » Sat Apr 28, 2007 10:54 pm

I've tipped Freo and if we can escape without any more injuries I would almost be happy to give them the W. The rookie list player from North Adel, McIntyre, injured his leg today and best case scenario looks like 4 weeks #-o

The Crows have done well with the injuries that they are carrying to grab premiership points early, no doubt the Crows will get better as the season progresses and hopefully it will be a case of discussing where in the eight they will finish as opposed to will they make the eight.

The reason that I picked the Crows over Freo is that I feel that the Crows "second string" of players are better than Fremantle's, some of the junior Crows are playing some electrifying footy at the moment and I dont get the same gist from Fremantle's side. Freo have some superstars that play for them yet I feel the Crows side is more balanced and versatile tp play the full four quarters out in winning form.

Geez, find me 5 "superstars" at any club . Throw in Schammer, Tarrant, Sandilands, Peake, Parker, Headland, Cook, Grover and Black and you have a strong, even side. Maybe only 1 superstar but so what?

BTW how many "superstars" are in the AFL - Judd, Goodes, McLeod, Pavlich, Cornes, Kerr, Burgoyne, Johnson, Riewoldt, Lloyd, Brown ..... (not meant to be an exhaustive list) .... most clubs have 1-3 only.

The statement was made "Freo have some superstars that play for them". Just highlighting how ridiculous that statement is. They are, however, a very good side.
