Will Essendon make the 8 this year?

In one word from a realistic Bombers supporter, No!

I think I may have been a bit hasty, they may or may not make the 8, but if they keep playing like they are at the moment, Yes they can.

Would anyone else like to change their prediction?

Looking at the upcoming games I can make a case for the 7-4 Bombers holding on to their position in the 8. On my crystal ball work (trying to predict the last 11 rounds) I forsee:

West Coast
Geelong
Hawthorn
Collingwood
Essendon
Sydney
Adelaide
Bulldogs or Kangas (they have a crucial late-season match up)

Their last 11 games (of which they need to win 5 probably) are v: Port (away), Melbourne, Geelong, Bulldogs, Collingwood, Adelaide (home), Hawthorn, Freo (away), Carlton, Richmond, West Coast (away)

Not a definite thing but, if they are good enough they could find 5 wins there

Dont get carried away with the Bombers...wont make the 8, get found out when they have to play on big grounds with their slow midfield and flimsy defence

Totally Agree, if Essendon make the 8 their slow midfield will get found out

but all credit to the Bombers they have the wins on the board, but in saying that I do not think Eagles, Sydney or Adelaide will play that bad against the Bombers again this season

I think they can make the top 8. From the games Hondo has listed I reckon at least 5 and maybe 6 wins there. Haven't done to bad already beating last years grand finalists and Adelaide who finished in the top 4 last year.

I struggled to find 5 or 6 wins confidently, Except for the Tigers at the moment, you can make a case for all teams
Bombers play
Port, you would expect a Bold showing from PA this week
Melb, back to back wins against Adel and Pies, travelling with almost a full list
Geelonlg, the form team
WB, pace will worry the Bombers
Collingwood, always a 50 / 50 game
Adel, once again Adel are always in the contest
Hawks, always a 50 / 50 game
Freo, this game is in WA
Carlton, the blues were victors early in the season
Richmond, you would expect a Bombers win
Eagles, once again this game is played in WA

My other concern with the Bombers, they seem to have the ability to string loses together
