Would have been surprised if he slipped to 70's based on what he did at Norwood.

Pretty sure he was the second youngest player behind Ken Farmer to kick 50 goals in a season

I think you're right on the first account.

I loved watching Burns in his prime, Collingwood were an exciting team to watch in his era, they all spent plenty of time in the weights room, they all came out huge in no time. Was Dank there before he was at Collingwood?

In the 40's I'd guess.

Noticing a lot of the decent names in the 100's-70's are players from over 10 years ago..

Is it a case of clubs having better scouting networks etc these days so good players just cant be hidden as easily in a by gone era.

Hird had grown up in Canberra and played a lot of soccer and League.
He was injured for a fair chunk of his U18’s football career with hip injuries and it was thought a huge punt to draft him.
He was one of our last picks and was only taken because of his name and it’s association with the club. Funnily enough he missed the whole of his first season with us due to injury and the club had actually voted to delist to him but Sheedy who held the power at the club demanded he be kept on

Goodes number has not come up yet.

Hird was a pick 79 and no one has disagreed with Bedge's call.

Which list are you referring to?
