C'mon Mal, poor example- after all this was in Melbourne, where ripping off the passenger is an institution.
Actually, with recent reports in Adelaide, the taxi driver is not a person rated highly in the trust stakes....

Didak said the drama began about 1 am when he offered the cab
driver $15 or what he believed was the correct fare-to take him home.
He could not walk because of his injured knee.
" The taxi driver said he did not want to take me, and that he wanted $25.
Obviously I didnt think that was a reasonable fee." Didak said yesterday.

When I get in cabs drivers have never ask me what I do for a job,
and never tell me how to do my job.
When you get in a cab the driver PUTS THE METER ON and you pay
the metered fare, its asystem used by taxi drivers/ companies for a
long long time and apparently it works.
By telling the driver to accept $15 as Didak did is not norMAL.

Also many drivers ask for $$$$$$$$$$$$$ up front [as per the $25]
if the passenger is inebriated or suspicious or acts like a dickhead.
This figure up front is sometimes inflated, but then the driver is obliged
to return the difference on the fare.

MY79 and I have a couple of taxi mates[kennell foreman and taxi ab.]
They are nice blokes who put up with drunks, druggies and the riff raff
of the world and they ask for $$$$$$$$$ up front because of runners etc etc.
they always return the difference if the meter does not reach the
advanced charge.

If Didak gets in a cab , sober andthe driver says gimme $25 then I would
agree with PG/PUNKY.

ps This will prob get thrown outa court, because the driver talked english

Allan Didak from unsubstantiated reports has been alledgedly in trouble
for assaults and various troubles in his visits to Adelaide.
He is according to my source a troublemaker.

It is any taxi drivers perogative by taxi cab rulings to refuse a fare
from an intoxicated or unruly individual.
If the individual is suspect a driver can ask for an up front fee in
case the individual does not pay the fare.

Mr Didak fits the above criteria.
The driver has acted in accordance to taxi board regulations.
Drivers call the police when they are intimidated or the client
will not pay the fare.

If a taxi driver tells Didak how to play footy then Didak would respond,
as did the Taxi driver when Didak made inferences on how he should
negiotiate a fare.

Sorry fellas in my opinion Mr Didak is guilty.
