A. MACKIE to be delisted by GEELONG after continually thinking he is worth more then he is.

theres a few others on the list that probably should go as well but now the players have power they may stay and create another year of false hope and misery for us.

1. the crows will target talls in this years draft
2. Hart has not yet been offered a 1 year deal
3. at this stage he has ruled out Gardiner or Everitt but was leaning towards backing the young guys att he club

The Crows don't have many players to off-load so I don't expect there will be too much going on at trade week.

Retire/Delist
Clarke
Hart
Hinge
Jericho*
Skipworth*
Plus all of the rookies

* could possibly trade these for a late 2nd round or 3rd round draft pick. If not, delist.

it's interesting

how does a side that has finished top 3 two years running have nothing to trade off but sides that finish bottom 4 do have trade bait

I personally think the higher you finish the more bait you have, it all comes down to what the club needs and what they are prepared to give away to fill there needs

I dont think you can generalise with things like that. The Crows do have some trade bait (Meesen, Maric, Knights, Douglas, McGregor, Johncock), but they simply would not want to get rid of them. The clubs who have finished down the bottom the last few years (over the last 4 or 5 years) would have quite a lot of quality young players so may be prepared to trade some, whereas the quality of the Crows young players wouldn't be quite as good (or they may actually be as good but as they weren't drafted in top 10 eg Knights, other clubs might not be as keen), given that the quality/quantity of their youngsters wouldn't be as high. So with a smaller amount of quality youngsters, the Crows wouldn't want to offload them. And of their more seasoned players (eg McGregor) hes helped them to get to where they are today (eg top 3 finish last 2 years) so the club wouldn't want to offer him up as trade bait (they'd consider that he could help get them to a flag in the next 2 years or so).

your right he does have a groin issue but it is definitely repairable, with the right management their is no reason why he cannot gain full fitness over pre-season

in regards to his ability, he was all australian at a young age and absolutely dominated the comp, their was daylight between him and the next best ruckman in 2003

now he is 27 so as a ruckman you would think his best football could still be in front of him

obviously the gamble is his mentality and his attitude, I think he can only go to a club with a coach that has strong people management skills and a team with a very strong leadership group, my view an Adel or Syd would have a good chance of turning his career around

let's be honest he would not be the first player that has found strife, Cousins has turned his career around, other champions like Ablett snr also found their fair share of trouble

yes it is a risk but it's not mission impossible and would be a good story if the kid could pull himself together

whilst in Melb yesterday I was sitting behind a couple of loyal Melb supporters wo believed Miller may be used as trade bait by the club, Miller had an excellent final against freo but according to these two blokes, he is not deemed as untouchable and a trade would be considered at the right price

would not surprise me if the crows delist a couple of players like jerico and put them on rookie list as with two injured players already for 2007. gives a couple of players a chance with a big pre season to impress.

not a bad call in regards to Jericho, but the club would need to delist him and risk no other club picking him up before the club's rookie draft selection

i know last year a couple of victorian sides enquired about Jericho, this will be an interesting call by the club, Luke has all the athletic requirements to play the game, he also has the much needed speed the club is seeking, maybe they should look at him across HB, the same sort of role Freo does with Peake

Jericho turns 22 in a couple of weeks, I think he is worth a risk for another year

Seems he might enjoy the grounds with a bit more space. Obviously he is a good player and does well on the big occasion, but may lack a bit of consistency. Last year he was lucky to get a GF spot and then played a major part in their GF win.

Definately welcome at Adelaide.

Intrigued to see what comes of Reilly trade issues. Club supposedly rang him and Meesen this wk to say they were not being offered around. Loyalty with a capital L comes out in trade week doesnt it.

swans mgt announced on Sydney news tonight that the swans will offer spida a two year deal for $500k per season

i wonder how current all australian and premiership players such as O'Keefe and Bolton feel, both players earn between $300-$350 per year and spider will come in over the top of them earning $1m for 2 years
