St.Kilda champion Lenny Hayes is set to announce he will be retiring at seasons end.

A much admired footballer and favourite of mine, he will be missed by the Saints faithful and all football purists.

Lot of big names retiring this year (though I guess that happens every year)

Glass and truck probably the second and third best full backs this century behind Scarlett.

Browny probably the most courageous player to play the game. That mark running back with the flight was just amazing.

Would be awesome in the media. Calls a spade a ******* shovel.

Also knows his stuff. Was watching "the grill" on the afl website and they had a trivia segment and he got almost all of them right.

Lenny's a champion and will finish 5th on the list of games played at St Kilda. Recall him getting shirt-fronted by Archer on his debut, tough as old boots. 1 point away from the Premiership/Norm Smith double but not to be..

Champion of not only his club, but the game.
He's gonna fall 3 short of 300 games which injuries have robbed him of.

The manner in which some people identify a footballing "spud" really baffles me.
