Except for the afl's official site, here http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&spg=display&articleid=297394, which described it as a "shock sacking".

I'm not a fan of Harvey, I heard him speak in person at club forums before, he has never impressed me, also have not been impressed by the way he has withdrawn 3 or 4 applications for senior the past, I have doubts whether he would live up to the expectations of a Senior Gig

Also I think, Cressy, O'Donnell, SOS, Bond, McKenna, Longmire and Pyke have past him on the pecking order, I would not be suprised if the window of opportunity has closed for Harvey

i also agree with your harvey thoughts S/D. when you knock back senior positions you must question your ability. put up your hand and have ago then after a year it will show you what your ability is :D

My opinion, people drop his name purely because he has worked with Sheeds for so long, he is a bit old school for me and you don't keep knocking back opprtunities, maybe once is ok but after that you put up or shut up or remain a specialist assistant

IMO coaches like sheedy, malthouse, pagan and mathews WERE great coaches of a PAST era. i think they have been overtaken by the likes of craig, woosha and i will say connolly(you dont win 9 games in a row in this comp unless your doing something right). harvey being sheedy's old school pupil would have been a readymade coach 5 years ago and we agree that his time as a head coach has past as has o'donnell another sheedy pupil. older coaches need to re invent themselves (like eade).again it's just my opinion :D

yep your right dutch how could i forget roos. but what im saying the game has changed in the last 2-3 years and those coaches plus roos have changed it. winning premierships are the ultimate but does sheedy of 84 coach the same way sheedy of 2000 did and now does sheedy of 2006 coach the same way he did in 84 i think not . again just my opinion :D

Good Riddance to the AFL's most annoying and un-educated coach. TTFN :)

One thing is certain. The next coach of Aint Kilda will not proclaim that "this club needs a culture change".

Secondly, I don't think Thomas will be on his own on the pine bench out the front of Centrelink. He may soon have to make room for the likes of the Junkyard Dog and Bomber. Pagan has survived selection night as has Clarkson and Matthews. Will Choco survive? If he goes with Doubting Thomas, Bomber and the Junkyard Dog, Sheeds will be safe. After all, despite all his protestations he will be able to stand up and say he cant be sacked because the league wont allow any more than four on the bench and the Centrelink bench will be full!

This morning on the Today show, Tricky Dickie Wilkins asked Neighbours hag Stephanie McIntosh, who also happens to be Nick Riewoldt's girlfriend, about the sacking. Her response:

"IT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED!"

ROFLMAO! She knows as much about footy as she does about singing and acting.

On another note, somebody should tell her that just because you're appearing on a breakfast show, it doesn't mean that you wear a skirt so short that we can see what you had for breakfast.
